@Pegasus82: I did get it to work with 4.35. I can’t say that I found any set of instructions worked for me. I was using Gimp on Windows, and ImageMagick and had many false starts before finally finding a combination of steps for getting it just right. Hope that vague answer helps Pegasus, Thanks for the reply.

  • Physically-Based Rendering (PBR) Theory Explained for Artists

I was just reading the article of PBR theory in the WIKI and found a probably typo mistake that lead to wrong theory mentioned that might confuse ppl. At Core PBR Textures at Albedo says: For non-metallic materials, it defines the diffuse color. For metals, it is usually black since metallic reflections dominate the material’s appearance. (the code handles this darken effect so you don’t need to paint metal parts black…but you may need to paint metal parts bright if you want colored metal) which is not the case at all for PBR theory of the Metal/Roughness Workflow which I believe is used and the default for Falcon PBR instead of the Specular / Glossiness Workflow where raw metal in diffuse has a value of sRGB (0,0,0) thus black, where ( Specular / Glossiness Workflow) clearly says that: The guidelines for the diffuse map in terms of tonality are the same as for the base color map. The exception is that if raw metal is present, then a value of 0.0 (black) is allowed and it is not governed by the guidelines for the darkness ranges Color represents albedo for non-metal materials and black (0.0) for raw metal. Base color should be devoid of lighting information except for micro-occlusion. Dark values should not be lower than 30 sRGB (tolerant range) or 50 sRGB (strict range), except where raw metal is black. Bright values should not be higher than 240 sRGB And you actually declare the metal color in the specular map which Falcon BMS doesn’t have specular map textures. Here are the metal colors of the PBR database: https://physicallybased.info/ And here is the Ultimate basic PBR guide by the Substance Painter team: Part1: https://wiki.falcon-bms.com/en/tutorials/3D/pbr-theory-1 Part2: https://www.adobe.com/learn/substance-3d-designer/web/the-pbr-guide-part-2 if it’s diffuse mentioned in the wiki and not albedo then it’s the exact opposite. Metals are more reflective than non metals. so non metals are black and metals are the color of the metal.

I gave these a run today. Very nice and would like to stick with them. I did have the same alignment problem on the HUD Panel and I didn’t have the Shoot lights in STT. These are the only two things I have found to critique. Great work

ONLY FOR USE WITH BMS 4.37U4 or LATER!!! [image: Qk1w3St.jpeg] This Falcon BMS F-16 CM52 Aircraft Skin is the livery worn by No. 5 Squdron, Pakistani Air Force (PAF). Please note that the skin is built for a standard F-16CM Block 52 aircraft model, although the PAF has upgraded their Block 52 aircraft to a Block 52+ configuration with conformal fuel tanks (CFT). At a later time, I may try to make the skin for a Block 52+ with CFT, though that is a much more difficult endeavor, since there is currently no base paintkit for the CFT version. Download the ADD new PAF No. 5 Sqdn Skinset HERE: PAF No. 5 Sqdn Skinset Add Files_4.37U4 BMS Screenshot: [image: QlLLiGY.jpeg] Photo of the real aircraft courtesy of Planespotters.net: [image: aBTz9u7.jpeg] History: Quoted from F-16.net (https://www.f-16.net/units_article447.html "In 2010 deliveries of the brand-new block 52 F-16s to the Pakistani Air Force started. As part of the Peace Drive program a total of 18 airframes was delivered. The squadron was moved to the newly constructed Shahbaz AB and started training on the new type immediately. The squadron was equipped with the venerable Mirage aircraft of which a number of different types were flown including some single seat fighter, fighter-bombers and also dedicated reconnaissance aircraft. With the introduction of the F-16 the squadron becomes fully multirole. [image: gprFRcD.jpeg] Although the PAF has experience operating the F-16 (block 15 versions have been flown by the force since 1983), the introduction of these block 52 airframes means a serious change in performance and possibilities. Most probably these airframes will be equipped to perform a wide variety of tasks since it’s the most modern aircraft type in service with the PAF. It will rely heavily on the type to cope with the ‘Indian’ thread (sic)." The lead aircraft is modeled from PAF Tail Number 10904, the aircraft flown by Group Captain Ali Naeem. The pilot is Flight Lieutenant Okayasug. The shoulder patches are for the PAF No. 5 Sqdn on the left shoulder, and the PAF “Fighting Falcon” on the right shoulder. Helmet decals are No. 5 Sqdn. [image: qyY0F4U.jpeg] Known issues: 1) The model used is the F-16CM Block 52 rather than the actual F-16CM Block 52+ with conformal fuel tanks. 2) The nose numbers on the actual PAF aircraft are located above the small radomes on the nose. The skin has them located below the radomes. This is a model texture limitation. These files are made in Physically Based Rendering (PBR) format, which can be used for the F-16 CM52 model in Falcon BMS Version 4.37 Update 4 or above. This Skinset is NOT for use with Falcon BMS Version 4.37U3 or earlier. Applicability: Use only with Falcon BMS Version 4.37U4 or later. [image: QIYTTUO.jpeg] PLEASE READ THE INSTALLATION README AND SAVE ALL YOUR ORIGINAL FILES TO A SAFE PLACE BEFORE INSTALLING THIS SKINSET! Acknowledgements: I have to thank the entire BMS Team and the Community for producing such a great sim!! Especially, I would like to thank @Manos1981 for releasing the F-16 CMS50 Paint Kit to the Community. I would not have been able to do this work without that asset, and it was the basis for making this skinset and for making the Paint Kit for the CM42. Also @okayasugf for the CM50 Paint Kit Thread, superb videos and taking the time to share his knowledge with the community. I would also like to thank @Icarus for his help and assistance during this project. Please post questions you may have in the release thread on the BMS Forums. Regards,

I take that back. I did edit the normal…I forget that the engine feathers are on there! back to the drawing board! …Ok, I checked. there’s no abnormality on the normal. That sounds really weird out loud. But it’s not showing any additional shading or highlights in the Red or Green channels.
