Not sure if it’s bugged at the moment though as I have it un-ticked too but the cursor is initially anchored to the centre of my view in VR and I have to SimToggleCursorCenter to be able to use the mouse for cursor control

That looked promising, but sadly it only affects the behavior of the cursor when controlled by an analog axis.

@Juggernaut Discussion on another thread just reminded me, the XML files that AL creates (which store all axes/button mappings) are named according to “instance-id” of each input device.

(Note, this is not the same GUID as appears in DeviceSorting.txt… which is just the PID and VID codes of the device, disguised in a GUID form.)

So, even though it’s the exact same hardware, when you plug your joystick/throttle etc into usb ports on new PC, it will have difference instance-ID(s) there.

So, I lied. You may have to do some rework to setup your axes and buttons again.

I think (but haven’t tried!) once you figure out the new instance-IDs, you can shuffle the files around… ie. rename the old XML files to match the new instance-IDs.

But of course that is “ski at your own risk” territory. If you try it, let us know if it works or not. 🙂

I have a very rough C++ program that at makes my 3rd Space vest work as G feedback with DCS. So I’m excited to see it and will be downloading it to try it out, thank you!

I don’t use alternative launcher and that’s probably why I don’t understand. Because, here, in my mind the axes of the FSSB R3 and the axes of the Thrustmaster stick logic board that you inserted in the FSSB R3 are the same thing as axes (they have the same action).

Problem solved !!

Windows callibration made that the full range was recognized again !! Then pairing TUSBA & Throttle and set calibration in RS HID Device tool. Then deleted the old TUSBA controller files of the Alternate Launcher so that new files could be made with a new callibration.

Now everything works perfect!

You guys have NO idea how gratefull I am to this community for helping me out . It’s a gratifying experience in this day and age that totally strangers are willing to sacrifice their time to solve your problem. You guys rock! And BMS forever !!!

@DerekSpeare just to answer your main question, yes I think a lot of people use vJoy for various things in BMS.

I think Joystick Gremlin is the most popular frontend, for configuring vJoy.

Ok I deleted everything in my BMS user config file.

I plugged my devices in and started the game. Everything seems to work.

I exited the game and check the BMS user config file. It is still blank. Is that okay?

Fired up the game again, all seems to be good. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Here’s my personal top 20 list … in rough priority order, but some things grouped together.

My tenet is not to bother mapping anything that you’d have to take hands off real stick or throttle, in the real jet (eg. landing gear toggle up/down). Just use keyboard or click cockpit switches, as needed, for those things.

@Additional-Cats - there was a REALLY good Mac utility for doing this sort of thing called ControllerMate…that unfortunately does not work with the latest Mac OS releases…

…but when it did, just one of the things I used to do with it for FAF Mac was swap my Trim hat between TRIM and POV via HOTAS key combinations. Another thing I did with it was make proportional brakes by making the key repeat rate for Brakes proportional to my pedal throw.

So yeah - this is a great idea…shift layers are a way to go, a utility is even better.

BMS setup gets complicated tho, if you have multiple devices with pov-hats. There’s some special config for that… not sure how well the new Launcher deals with that, as I only have 1 device with 1 hat.
