Hi The problem was solved by uninstalling the SST program and driver, then letting Windows 10 reinstall a generic driver. Since then, all buttons are DX-recognized.

@311Blade well, the monitor I use with Helios is a touchscreen, so technically I can touch the controls with my hands. I know, it’s not exactly like clicking a physical button, but the Helios profile is so refined and functional that it offers possibilities I couldn’t achieve with an ICP alone Ciao! -=CyB=-

@xellophane oh you may be on to something there The files are ID’d by DirectInput device id, which can sometimes change, on Windows, when moving USB plugs around… different hubs etc. Haven’t heard of this being a problem on wine, but I haven’t tested it myself

@Mauricio-Sipmann Could be. I had heard some versions of Windows only support a single language, but I thought it was limited to WSR, not MSP. Sorry, not much help here. Let me know if you figure anything out.

@oakdesign how about not requiring a 3rd party app for something so obviously inherent? That’d be pretty good too.

@Gypsydog4 said in Tec Creations F16 UHF Radio Stack Controller: Ok now have most of the buttons working and recognized in windows and BMS and most of the volume knobs working too The Channel Knob and the five channel frequency knobs don’t appear to work only the far right frequency knob is recognized in widows and when I move it I get a stream of lights lit up on controller settings Dawgboy do you have the frequency knobs working in BMS ? @Gypsydog4 just confirmed all buttons are mapped that have BMS callbacks available, including the individual manual freq rotaries. These are DX keybinds, not axes.

@Drumer These are the basic controls, as you see, I fly with the movement arrows and it flies very well, I even do AAR. With the X and Z you gradually give and take off power. This configuration is intended to use both hands on the entire keyboard area to be ready for another command. [image: 2QlkKe2.png] With this I use the CTRL as a modifier to move the DCS (not that one, the ICP), very necessary to work with the DED [image: fze9meh.png] with this I use ALT modifier to control the TRIM [image: AyNvd7L.png] Now to use the mouse as HOTAS, you must install a JOYSTICK emulator and a program that simulates its use as UCR. Here I leave you the link, https://www.mediafire.com/folder/0bj9w67j0lg72/Mouse_as_Joystick first install VJOY, download the UCR.INI file, copy it into the UCR folder that you are going to download and execute as well, then you have to go to the Falcon launcher and configure the radar cursor axis and the virtual joystick buttons. [image: s2z4Q7Y.png] [image: BBmt196.png] [image: ykDTAtx.png] and there you would be ready to use the mouse as HOTAS.

@oakdesign As quoted, OP mentioned a stripped down cockpit frame may be an option. You don’t need a full cockpit build for a correct stick and throttle setup. Out of the box, FSSB and WinWing may be options, both of which won’t be ideal if/when OP decides to go with a replica or even semi-replica build. The ultimate choice will be up to OP and how likely he is going to opt for certain builds in the future. Personally, VFS-WE + custom base would be the best option as the WinWing option seems to be linked to their gimbal design meaning the footprint will still be on the bigger side, maybe the same size as FSSB. @Buzzbomb said in Spec out my new HOTAS, please.: I can afford new controllers, basically anything on the market. However a stripped down cockpit frame may be an option. Full F-16 centered HOTAS, with authenticity to the F-16 stick and throttle being important to me. I can’t do a full cockpit but I CAN fabricate framework to place all devices in a reasonable approximation of correct relative placement. Nothing in OP’s post about needing to be out-of-the-box setup being a requirement. The SNSR PWR and HUD switches are often used, so having a setup where the stick’s base does not encroach on these would be ideal — again depending on how likely OP is going to go that route.

@kolmipilot You can do a lot of this with FoxVox (I used the same stick) and also get voice control with it for free. You can also extend the buttons with double clicks, triple clicks, etc.

I have a Warthog stick and went through the whole disassembly, sanding and regrease. My stick is smooth now but had clunky micro-movements around center before I did the whole procedure, making it difficult to AAR properly. I can see why they want to move away from the old tech which is subpar for the price point. If I could sell my old base I could be tempted, but it would have to be able to be as rigid/resistant as the old Warthog base

Many thanks for the suggestions! Happily, the inner bushing is metal, so I won’t have a problem with lubricant making it brittle. In addition to having some Nyogel, I found that I have a tube of a lubricant called Super Lube. I decided to put some Super Lube on the bearings. My Slaw Device pedals are nice and quiet now! No squeak when I use the right toe brake

@Atlas we should see how it plays out. Turtle Beach has only been in the controller market for a couple of years, but from what I have seen their yoke has had some good reviews as well as their Velocity 1 flightstick. I know Airforceproud95 on YouTube has been flying with the flight stick in most of his most recent videos.

@RTS0610 Alt Launcher doesn’t (yet) support defining new key-combo prefixes. You’ll have to edit the BMS-Auto.key file, by hand, to do that. Once you do, Alt Launcher will parse and roundtrip it, fine. I define a few of these… here’s some key file code you can copy/paste/modify. @dandove said in Best joystick for BMS?: I have the Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X but read it’s not ideal for BMS. I am thinking about buying the Warthog as most reviews consider it the best. Obviously it’s not cheap so I am wondering if there are any downsides to it before I splash the cash. I know there is no Z-rotation. Does it have to be screwed to your desk? Are there other sticks I should consider? Thanks in advance. I use the warthog stick, mounted on my chair with a monster Tech mount. I just bought the Viper TQS throttle, and thrust masters flying mount works great to secure it on the desk. The Viper TQS is expensive, but I absolutely love it. Before that I used the Warthog throttle for 7 years, and it was awesome, so you can’t go wrong with that either. My entry level hotas was the x52, which is a good hotas to start with to see if you like this hobby. If you are willing to pay $500, I think the best throttle is the Viper TQS. The best stick is probably the FSSB lightning, and I hope to get that one day. It’s an expensive hobby, but it’s worth it.

It is virtually impossible to get the exact same amount of pressure while manually calibrating your cougar unless you are using a push pull gage, I believe the realistic amount is 20 lbs. Your hand and arm are going to feel the force differently in all directions X/Y. Watch the numbers as you push and pull and note the number where you click the trigger to set it. Go the opposite direction the same amount and that will get as close as you can. Make sure have User Mode, Emulation On, and Manual Calibration selected in both boxes. I always check this each time before use and hit apply. It will reload you calibration just in case windows messed with it.
