Oh, if anyone finds it helpful, I created a “Crew Checklist” based off the real-life HAF Crew Checklist and adapted it for use with BMS (in addition to proper placement of SEC/EPU checks) here. I made it out of boredom, but if anyone finds it helpful feel free to use it. I made it a while back so if there are any mistakes, please let me know about it so I can update it.
I also made a Japanese version. I actually need to update it because I mistranslated “press and hold.” 😛
Thx jinnro88! Very nice work with the CL, will put it to good use!;)
I have seen someone was working on and made work the F-22 Raptor. Not that I am a huge fan of the "C"raptor but I am willing to give it a shot if it actually works. What about some of the OPFOR craft, like the Flanker and Fulcrum?
SP or MP is a non factor here. The aircraft behaves the same either way.
the f-ack switch works directly with the PFL yes. They aren’t the SAME thing but are directly related. The f-ack is the switch, the PFL is the display where the faults go.
The MFD test page displays the MFL (maintenance fault list) and is more used by people like me for troubleshooting the aircraft.
what do you mean “people like you” do you work irl on jets or…? andanother thing i have been wondering- is there a thread that asks who is an actual( not just normal pilot but -no offense meant to airliner pilots- still major props- no pun intended) fighter jet pilots(possibly with screen names to more specifically pick their brain about certain systems or tactics or just exp’s. in general(obviously non- classified material only!) there’s a lot of irl posts but random-so i think or hope that a thread(“pilots thread” and “fighter pilots thread”) should be started… or maybe there is another place i should be looking for that type of discussion.
Yup, ignoring the complications of multiplayer, you can set your #2-#8 address slots however you want as long as they are in your package. The addresses are XY where X is the flight number and Y is the member number. Flights are numbered the same as in the briefing list. You can get creative following only #1 and #3 from 3 flight if you run low on address slots.
Actually I heard that you could fire a Mav (RL, dont know in game) on a chopper going less than 60 kts.
So if you find a Mi24 a bit feisty… why not ? 😉
They tried that in Gulf 1 and couldn’t get the Mav to lock on the chopper. As a result the A10 scored a gun kill. The most unusual kill in Gulf 1 has to be the Mil-8 that was killed when a 2000lb LGB was dropped through its rotor disc (although a near miss would have had the same effect).
ive been into sims since commidoor 64 days .One of my fav was an ah64 appache sim all i had was an atari controller an overlay for the keyboard, some really bad graffix, and a whole lot of imagination.Still i spent o many hrs on it i threw the keyboard overlay to the side.Im sure that like myself sims just got my mind goin like no video game ever could. Now im not 12yrsold and sims have come a long way. im amazed at the variety i have to choose from and im happy to have dcs and il2 and yes my all time fav f4.i read the eopee what a road and knowing that we are a smll market thankful for the people at bms for keeping an awesome sim alive and getting better all the time.so im not wantin to turn my nose at any company trying to bring new things to the sim community and happy that we have choices. and have a deep respect for the people who spend there free time so we have bms to enjoy thank u
Been doing sims since C64 days myself. Not AH64, rather F-15 Strike Eagle. Ya, the stick gfx sucked but it was cool to fly to Lybia and Iraq at the time. Now, sims continue to evolve. Especially bms. DCS and IL2 and other sims have evolved as well, but from a pure fighter sim perspective (my own) I fly mostly bms. I do have FSX and the VRS Hornet I fly once in a while, but only for doing traps. However, the F/a-18 is rumored to be undergoing an indepth makeover. Also, carrier operations are also rumored to be on the table as well. Can’t wait to see that!
According an UXO-CBU study the CEM spreads over an area “120x200’ to 400x800’ .” Obviously the CEM is capable of footprints larger and smaller than this so perhaps this gives a hint as to footprints used operationally. Another hint is a “required 60’ overlap” in patterns which also suggests footprints of that size order. One can work backward from footprint tables to discover what settings to make.
In the end this is a BMS weapon in a BMS environment with BMS results. Only testing is going to provide meaningful feedback as to what densities are required for acceptably high Pk against various targets.
Thanks Skiba;) Its no to hard to understand the basic File Structure of a Game - As it looks different from Title to Title is always the Same: Some Sounds here, some Textures there and Config everywhere 😛 😉
A word of caution. Sound files and pit tiles are easy enough to install and adjust, however playing around with files can hork your install. Especially if you mess with LOD editor or TacEdit. If your a noob and playing with these files, you can hork the install and have to re-install everything. Just be careful to back up your files before modding them.
Flying a full approach plate from IAF to DH heads down between your knees watching the HSI/ADI/round dials is a treat when you look up and see the runway right before you. It gives you lots of confidence that you can come home after battle and descend through the pea soup and get back home to the bar.
This is just in original F4 right? I think it worked in F4:AF
It worked as far as I remember testing it both SP4 and in AF for sure .
It still should work , unless code changes in the area .
What it will do is basically with say aim120 is raise the seeker range by multiplying the ECU value from the radar seeker data so I think it was 1.05 x like 9nm if target had ECM on . you would get stronger radar lock/range by about 0.5+nm.
On SARH missiles , when the missile is cycled your radar lock is stronger by same value .
The problem before in SP3 they were worthless once range got to decent range you could never hold lock to get a hit .
So raise that value to 1.5 and see if it still works, that would give big difference to easy see .
Also, why don’t you select “runway” during the load up screen instead of “ramp start” or “taxi”? Just put yourself on the runway and fly. Also, don’t let the AI be “lead” as you have found, it can be a bit confusing. If the wife is that demanding, then I would suggest “runway” for your spawn point.
i’m really glad that finally it comes out i wish we can enjoy so many hours of pure joy and flight, i just had a fast look at the forum, where i can get the installer?
thankyou so much cheers and best regards!!
