@Razor161 likely a problem with meta blocking data outputs to the usb port

For those of you who have enough GPU power and want to push the little Pico 4 a little more, there‘s a way to increase the resolution (and also bandwidth) of the new PICO Connect PCVR software.

And we’re sorted! Out of shear desperation I deleted D3D11.dsp and let it regenerate, got into 3D flawlessly.

Lessons for today - don’t mess about with Streaming Assistant, go straight for Virtual Desktop. Don’t forget the old favourites too!

Performance is beautiful, solid 60fps (might need to disable Vsync) and butter smooth, can even read the small writing.

Supporting OpenXR will bring a multitude of benefits to BMS. Firstly, there is no need to use Steam and the VRAM overhead it imposes.

Secondly, hand tracking will be possible with headsets such as the Oculus Pro and 3 or by using a LeapMotion controller (great if you have a G2). This will allow the interaction with the cockpit using hands instead of a mouse.

Other useful apps are also available such as OpenKneeboard.

One thing i have noticed after having a pico 4 for around 2 weeks is that turning battery saver to ON in the headset under settings my image gets even better again. Its like it provides AA to the mfds and hud and they become so clear.

I honestly couldnt believe it, it makes no sense at all, and i see noone else talking about it!!!

Edit. Ive just seen it drops to 72hz in battery saver so i was seeing a clearer image as its 1/3 less traffic from pc >pico

Yeah. High is ‘ok’ for casual flights but not nearly as sharp as in godlike. BMS VR in godlike is great, everything is readable without having to lean forward or use zoom function. But in high it’s required to read mfd information etc.
But then again, if the passthrough would work, I would be able to see my actual MFD’s.

Thx m8. I already have a PLC and ordered just that same adaptor (also a Cat 6 LAN cable). I also tend to use my Oculus Quest 2 cable as a charging cable.

But with this setup, do you have the +4K resolution as mentioned in the Pico 4 properties?

FYI… Version 5.3.2 has been released and fixes the problem with Virtual Desktop 👍
