Dear Community, Many of you have questions about the sim: How to use some systems How to use some parameters How to properly use some weapons … This section is for you! The goal is to have people or devs answering non-technical questions on the sim (there is a technical support section dedicated for this…) Hope this will help you a bit more! Cheers

@Tulkas said in Shared Memory bit "solenoidStatus": @Boxer said in Shared Memort bit "gear solenoid": @Tulkas – you gotta read the whole flightData.h Look for MLGWOW and NLGWOW in LightBits3 - those are the weight on wheels predicates. There is only one for both mains, that’s deliberate. I did, I did. I’m aware of the two WOW bits, but still not sure if they give me all I need. Would they just send info of weight on/off the wheels with gear down, what does that bit do with gear up? Still sending weight off? I need a bit to account for three situations: These bits represent literal reflections of the mechanical switches on the landing gear struts. When the strut extends the switches open, and the bit shows the no-WOW condition (i.e. bit is zero). When the strut compresses, the modeled switch closes and the bit goes to 1, weight is on the wheels. Since the gear struts are extended in the wheel well when they-re up, there is no WOW and the bits will all be zero as the switches are open. This is all a natural side effect of the modeling of the ground handling…you’ve noted that the jet will “bob” when you stab the brakes on the ground, right?? The struts are extending and compressing when that happens and all that has to be modeled so that it looks right from the outside views…wheels remain in contact with the ground etc.

@airtex2019 I removed -mono from my shortcut that day, unfortunately. The event took place on 2025 03 27. And I have all the xlog file recordings of the flights of the days before and all those of the days after (I think), but none for 2025 03 27 and the 2025 03 28 (the mission started on the 27th and probably finished on the 28th.

@Aragorn to be honest, you wouldn’t want me to build you one. I have grand plans, and they usually work for me for a time, but it’s typically iteration 3 that finally works and lives.

@spotdott I tried your suggestions. They didn’t work. Currently, you don’t need to attempt an emergency landing without landing gear; you can just activate the ejection seat or quit the game mid-flight…otherwise, you’ll be ejected after landing…

@h4sanutku A quick tutorial of re-supplying in Mission Commander: Click on File>Open Mission. Select your latest Save Day (or any save day you wish really). One your Save Day is open, Click the Units Tab & make sure Squadrons icon is highlighted. Feel free to filter by Country Double-click on the Squadron you wish to resupply Under “Roster” (center bottom of the window that opens up) double-click the cells that are yellow to add jets. Click Apply & then Save the Save Day. Reenter Falcon & you will have more aircraft.

@JollyFE radar being active sensor is different than passive sensors, also war thunder has an army of info gatherers lol https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/Vm2IhvAqFgYY excerpt - Conclusion and Proposed Fix The PL-8B's IRCCM system relies on two mechanisms: 1. Signal memory-based flare discrimination (functionally analogous to the in-game "seeker shutoff" mechanic). 2. Reduced tracking FOV (≈1°) to limit flare re-entry post-separation.

@HaggisHero not your bad, it is a complex system indeed, but as you know we here in BMS go for full realism, so Link16 could not be different. Still some parts missing but we will get there. Good flying!

Greetings all, I am trying to create a custom campaign in the Georgia theater. I am starting clean with no air and ground units. I managed to create air squadrons and also tested it in the sim, but when I create a new ground brigade I get an error: Oeps... Something is wrong in the database. Check CT: 0 Pointing to Unit: -1 The unit is then created but with this error: Unhanded exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. @Henrique-Giffoni In the manual is explained how to give commands to the AI on your flight, as well as how to assign targets. All sensors can be used to assign targets: FCR, HMCS, TGP and even HAD. You can pick each individual target and command the AI attack my target or attack targets, if you want to the AI to choose its own tgts. You can also set pre-planned stpt, choose them on HSD and give commands. (not so precise) You can choose precision targets on the recon window and use them in flight to give commands. (best choice) You can give for each acft on your flight different weapons with diff capabilities to engage using stand-off or close-in ranges. (J-weapons + AGM+iron bombs) You can choose different A2G tactics via radio then and employ the AI correctly with different weapons. Plenty of options right now to do in flight. Nothing planned for mission planning right now. Plate is full.
