@Tumbler31 Ya, this isn’t my first rodeo lol (57 year old gamer) and it could be easier and more intuitive, or idiot proof as I call it lol. Once I followed the direction verbatim, it was no issue. To be fair, I have installed a lot of games directly from my unzip program and have just gotten used to doing it that way, but BMS doesn’t like that at all. Been a long time (I think since 4.34) since I’ve played so relearning nearly everything…Ramp start here I come.

@Boxer thx, u know i always wondered why whenever i start bms and go to setup, select my key file, load and always noticed that dgft/msm deselect was shown .
Now it just loads and showing bms full, my file name.
So it has always shown as activated, never really thought about it till using foxvox.
So now its still activated i guess even though nothing to activate.
Confused on why that particular key , something still not quite right in my key file, no clue.
      Anyhoo, thankyou
Till my next WTF !!!👍 😁

Same AI behaviour after our nw gear collapse, too.
AI continued to taxi and took off. (But with open canopy)

When i tried to regain control on the ground, the nosewheel collapsed again. When i left the game, the AI continued taxiing.

@zap737 always use Falcon BMS.cfg for those lines (they should be there in theory)

Remove any of those lines you have in Falcon BMS User.cfg

      Thanks Max

@MaxWaldorf said in Just updated - now I get the dreaded "Could Not Create Device on Adapter" error..:

Your VR headset might create a virtual audio device to mirror the desktop audio (I know virtual desktop does that with my quest2)

I wonder if that audio device isn’t destroyed properly after you used it.

      Might be something to investigate…

Sounds logical, but if it doesn’t show up in Sound Devices not sure where to look… i’ll ask on the HP G2 Discord, may get a clue there. I have removed my HP G2 speakers so I may use my Sennheiser headset with mic while playing (or earbuds), but it still may be running drivers for them… I have tested this out several times and I am 99% sure starting the HP G2v2 initiates Windows Mixed Reality Portal and must initialize it’s drivers as BMS crashes every time after I do this…

@Seifer no significant diff. maybe slightly lower num of draw calls (low 13k vs high 13k range) but I’d chalk that up to random variation.

(for this test I have head-tracking disabled and have my pov fixed forward, in the default position by double-tapping the ‘3’ key)

the chat-command did give me some feedback – showing a 0x0000… hex number, so I believe it was accepted

      @jayb
      Thank You Jayb and Quasi_Steller.
Quasi…you were correct. When I initially installed 4.36, I must have copied the setup.zip to the Falcon BMS Setup folder, my error! What I should have done was just run the setup.zip from my Download file.

I fixed my problem by running the FalconBMS 4.36.1_inc.exe again. But this time setting the path to C:\FalconBMS 4.36 Setup\Falcon BMS 4.36 Setup.

This saved me alot of time. THANKS AGAIN!

A couple of quick follow up notes.

The Documentation already includes supported key codes in charts for the supported locale specific keyboard layouts. See under Docs, Input Devices, Keyboard Layouts for the PDF files that have these charts.

The docs team tell me that one should read this like a white list - they key codes shown are the ones you can map. So things not shown, notably the PAUSE/BREAK key, should be the clue that the game doesn’t support them.

Regarding the supplied Excel based editor tool and the ability to assign callbacks to physical make or break for a given switch and the ability to invoke callbacks with either or both of key up and down semantics: the device tabs for joysticks like Cougar or Warthog do not support that.

However, there is a “DX specifics” tab which can do this. The idea of this tab is that you can construct one or more lines for a specific switch and then paste those lines from that sheet into your key file as required. Yes, that means lines constructed there do not show up in the automated “output” tab so there’s a little more work to do to leverage what’s in the DX specifics sheet but… I was wrong to say that the capability is not supported in the supplied editor tool at all. My apology for the mistake on my part there.

I did add a to-do item for adding more defense in depth to the key file parsing code. This is at best 4.<thirty-next> though so not all that soon.
