CCIP and NWS button
-
If your missile step button works for all other functions:
1. Step missile hardpoint of same type
2. Step missile types
3. Manually disconnect from tanker
4. Toggle NWSThen it is impossible for it to be set up wrong. We say cycle CCIP/CCRP/DTOS in “A-G” but there are many “A-G” situations and missile step doesn’t cycle in all of them. LAU-68 rocket pod, guns strafe, Maverick, HARM etc. do not do this.
Try instant action and select GBU-12 or Mk20 and see if it works there.

Thanks. Although I haven’t tanked , it does the other thing you mentioned. The wpn. type I’ve been trying to do this with are usually the cluster bombs(but not mk20 in missions). I believe I have tried it with Mk20 in IA, with no success.

Should work with all kinds of ‘dumb’ bombs, including MK-20 cluster bombs.
Not sure if it’s necessary, but is Master Arm on?
Are you sure the MK-20 are selected as the current weapon on the SMS page?I’m not sure what could inhibit that function from working; I’ve never seen it fail to work. You’re not in a manual bombing mode by chance?
Also, which command exactly is being called? It should be: SimMissileStep which shows in the Setup UI (in the BMS key default) as “HOTAS-NWS A/R DISC MSL STEP”, or in default keystrokes.key as “Wpn-Missile Hardpoints Cycle”.

FYI, no need to be refueling for checking the disconnect function, it is one of the check to do at ramp
I’ll spare you to redo the training script : on the ground, open the refuel door, and hit the NWS/Missile step keystroke or DX button : you should have the red mention “DISC” come up on the indicator just right of your HUD (the same as the NWS).
-
Does that work? I tried to cycle the disconnect mechanism in the air and it wouldn’t show the disc label even for an instant.

Works for me. AR door open > RDY illuminates > NWS depress and release > DISC illuminates for 3 seconds > RDY illuminates.

Thanks for the reply.
The HUD/MFD shows CCRP,CCIP, etc. Definately not Manual mode. CCRP, etc. is fully functional, I just can’t cycle via NWS/miss. step.
The command is HOTAS-NWS A/R DISC MSL STEP.
Yes, Master Arm is armed.I was just in Instant Action and it would still do the same as above( works in nav and AA,not in AG). Btw, Group, thanks for the tip on the Ramp test for the fuel disconnect.
Is there possibly a command in the Config file that deals specifically with CCRP, etc. cycling ?
I have a workaround via the FCC submode command, which I have mapped to a spare key. However, I’d rather have ARAP(As Real As Possible). -

Airwolf, did you see my reply on the FO forums?

What are your realism settings?

Normally the Missile Step button cycles through CCRP-CCIP-DTOS. Kind of a must if you are doing pop-ups The MAN or LADD mode (last one not implemented anyway) are not in the rotation.

I’ll have to check that tonight. If memory serves, everything except enhanced padlocking is “realistic”. Is there anything in particular I should be looking for?

Agreed. Fortunately I have a workaround, just want “real”

Looking for something like “simplified avionics” setting or similar. That can cause problems.
To confirm the command is SimMissileStep -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “Missile Step” with particular emphasis on the callback.
As to “it’s no big deal I don’t use it much” I would be worried that something so basic is misbehaving. It’s like pooping blue poop, not a problem in itself but I’d still see a doctor.

I’ll double check, but I know I didn’t intentionally set anything “simplified”. What’d weird .
Actually, I use it a lot. I’ll go in CCRP , then switch for “targets of opportunity”. So, this bugs me, but I’d be more upset without the workarond
Blue Poop? Now, that’s funny.
