Is there any time limitation to play Ramp Start on Technical Engagement?
-
Hi!
I never have started my missions from ramp start. I just start them from taxi. I am trying to learn ramp start procedure at the moment.
I found out I am kicked off from Ramp Start mission on Technical Engagement in the middle of ramp start procedure.
I am taking long time to finish it now. like twenty minutes?
I wonder if there is any time limitation to play the mission. How long it is, if it has?
Can’t finish my ramp start and take off in the mission? -
If I recall, it’s a twenty minute limit.

Yeah, I initially had the same problem.
You can just keep working on it until you get faster, or you can create your own mission and take as much time as you want. Using the in game prompts (training scripts) is not the easiest way to accomplish the mission, imho. Better to use Reddogs checklists (in the docs folder) and go at your own pace. Once you get it down, it will move along pretty quickly.

The game will forcibly abort your flight at some time after the scheduled takeoff. So given a normal ramp start (T-20:00) you have until (T+30:00) to takeoff or 50 minutes. I might have changed that value in a text file so maybe +20m is default. In any case you want to be able to go from ramp start to takeoff in 20 or less, not 40 or 50.
Once the ATM considers you launched you can fly forever. I noticed that starting “runway” it was impossible to be forcibly aborted. If you want to take an unlimited amount of time you can start runway, taxi back to a parking spot, shut down, and then there is no time limit.
I printed out a detailed real life checklist and followed everything. It wasn’t super fast but not ultra slow. I did the entire thing in about 16 minutes which is quite slow. I still managed to get to the runway on time (just) and get the 25 second automated takeoff clearance.
In a casual game without doing SEC, DBU, EPU etc. checks I’m ready to taxi in about 5 minus the full align of course.

Guys,
Thanks for your comments. They will help my ramp start training a lot! I will try that again this weekend.
