Campaign too easy?

you said it better then I did
Molni, Without disrespect to your theater.
if someone asks a question about a theater in ITO, he wants to play in ITO.
if he was complaining the stock KTO campaign is too easy, no one would have said something like âthen you should try ITOâ. as itâs a whole different thing. -
Roger, but as I have said. A DB and modeling values determines the possible OOB. Most of 3rd patry theaters and stock campaigns are easy because none of SAMs/MANPAD or only a fraction can launch during movment and they literally never stop launch. You are literally totally safe even at low alt as long as enemy units are moving and stay aways from very over modeled MG AAA fireâŚ

We finished up a really entertaining ITO experience a couple of months ago. Troop levels were set to veteran with ace/ace difficulty. We changed to ATO such that the AI did not target any air defences or runways.
We were being intercepted on most missions right up to the final day. Not realistic in the slightest (I presume) but it was crazy fun. Play with the settings, ATO and PAKS.

Ionic Ripper,
You can always build theatres harder if you wishâŚtactical engagement can create some nasty environments. I have built a middle east conflict that can keep you fighting through different countries, other than IsraelâŚtough sorties⌠-
I have a question for the OP: have you done any SEAD missions in the early hours of the campaign? If so, please let me know how you coped with those SA-6âs?
-
Bumping this question too ^, im having a hard time with this campaign, keep getting shot down, even at low level by sa6. If i cant see them in the recon screen, how can i plan to avoid them or even target them?
-
I assume youâre talking about the âStanding waveâ campaign in this theater?
I just finished âLoud and Clearâ by Iftach Spector and would like to give ITO a go, too.
Cheers, Uwe

yip, thats it H. Love this theater, but cant get anywhere as early on, the air defences are lethal, even on cadet Im just not skilled enough as yet to fly the early missions, maybe i should leave it until midday! In the briefing, it will say, sa6 launchers 4km north of âŚ. but i cant see them on the map, so i have to just mark the ones i can see sa2,3 etc but then i get engaged by a site that just crops up and itâs game over.

Hm, it might be a good idea to take control of a single squadron at first (uncheck the âset by HQâ box on the info window) and schedule nothing but BARCAPs and DCAs for it (setting the patrol duration to one minute on one of the âtriangleâ waypoints so you wonât be overtaxed).
This might be a good strategy to get a âfeelâ for the campaign and maybe get some good mission ratings (they influence the overall performance of your side, not just your missions).
All I can say is âkeep at itâ, playing (and hopefully winning) a full campaign is a very rewarding experience.
Cheers, Uwe

Hah - same experience SEAD kills me every time - have yet to come up with a tactic that works - the lack of standoff SEAD weapons is lethal - which I am sure the original authors intendedâŚ

I tried my first âBARCAPâ in âStanding Waveâ today. Wingie and me were engaged defensive by both SA-6 and some MiG-29a. We went NOE and made it home safely, so we still got an âexcellentâ rating. I havenât the foggiest idea TBH about how to deal with the MiGs if all you have is heaters, thatâs way beyond my current skill level
All the best, Uwe

Been at it again lately, love this theater. A great thank you to the team who made it.
