Weapon / Missile ( TD-BP ) What dose this mean ?
And when is it relivent. -
Threshold Detection / Bypass
It’s a setting pertaining to the AIM-9 missile. I wrote a huge long piece about it which I can’t find right now. How it works in BMS is different than real life with the consent to uncage and the threshold detection, blah blah. Bypass is fully manual, you uncage it’s uncaged, you cage it’s cages. TD looks for a tone quality from the AIM-9 seeker before allowing the missile to uncage. The uncage permission is tracked separately so you can give uncage permission and then TD is satisfied later or you have TD satisfied but no pilot permission. In any case TD in BMS works wrong where TD is just “auto uncage” which is fine except you can’t ever change your mind (if AIM-9 has solid tone the pilot can’t rescind uncage, or rather it is immediately auto uncaged).
So I suggest using BP for AIM-9s. Also don’t use any callback that hard links to an SMS page button as that can cause glitches.

No, never bind it. It is not a button in the F-16 cockpit and you will cause bugs if you use the callback for changing TD-BP directly. Call up an AIM-9 and play with the option on the SMS page. You can also set its default state in your DTC.

Got it thanks
