Anybody working on KC135 model?
-
Tom,
you know we appreciate your work a lot, but if you start to model another AC,
then could you please do me and the community a favor, and unwrap each
side of the AC and each wing individually (not simply mirrored)? That way we could have real camo skins or left side only markings etc.
which was sadly impossible with your older models.Sure it’s more work than create one half of the AC and unwrap it,
then mirror the 1rst half and done.
Also you’ll need to place more parts on the same texture,
but I think the community, and especially the skinners will appreciate
such work even more.Thank’s for watchin’, Tom.
Cheers,

Yes, this was a very common issue with Tom’s models, or in some cases the texture part size on the palette was not proportional with the area on the model. (SA-10 launcher)

Ough,
Okay. Understood sir. So in this case I have to skin it without mirrors.
Okay, Thank you.
Cheers

Great start…
Thanks Tom.
And a question: Is there a possibility for a nice turkish camo in order to can be used into the Aegean theater? Will be follow the limitation rules of BMS the 3D model?

Come on …
Time is not money here.

Maybe meanwhile (USAF, JASDF, Italy)…
Or (selected by ROKAF for future tanker)…

Hi Tom,
Nice work, but your model looks more like a Boeing 707 than the KC-135.

@ Tom Catz.
Yep Tom. Do you think is the best for you … but knowing the future stock KC-135, if you do not want to “loose your time” … like Biker, I would rather recommend to work on the MRTT.
Your option.

Hi Tom,

…where it was developed from…

…where it was developed from…
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that KC-135 was actually derived from the Boeing 367-80 jet. There is more direct link to -80, than to 707.
Nonetheless, thanks Tom for giving so much to the community. I wish I had 1/2 of your talent. MRTT would be great as well.
Cheers,
Andrej

Oh come on!!!
There is quite a difference Gancio. The Dash 80 (and the Model 717 from which both the 135 and the Dash 80 were developed) has a different body shape as well as size. in fact, one can slide the entire fuselage of the KC-135 into the 707. The wing attachment on the 135 is also further forward as well as being different than the 707.
I’m just saying that I have done a lot of reading on the KC-135.
Anyway, still a nice modeling job by Tom.
