Panama 2.0c Beta for BMS
-
I am proud to release Panama 2.0c for BMS. Before I go further I want to give Malc a big thank you for not only giving me permission, but encouraging my continued development on Panama. I want also to give a massive thanks to Demer928. It is due to the immense amount of knowledge concerning Falcon theatre development that he imparted to me during our collective development work on both Guam and Somalia, that I was as able to troubleshoot and modify Panama in the manner I have.
In this release I have removed and replaced all of the cam file links of the original Panama campaigns as well as the Redux campaigns. The new links closely match Malc’s 2.0b ground path rework. They are set in manner which cities (primary objectives) are directly connected to each other through towns (secondary objectives) and villages. Where bodies of water lie, links between these objectives connect through bridges. Furthermore, I have modified all cam files and given the bridges, cities, towns and villages, much greater fuel and supply ratios (220, 220). Previously, ground units would run out of fuel and supply before arriving at key cities. Thus, units would stall and the campaign would become unwinnable. It is due to the above changes that I have made, preliminary testing shows great promise that Panama’s campaign’s can be won provided enough player involvement occurs.
Installation Instructions
Now for the fun stuff. Remove all previous versions of Panama. Download Panama 2.0c from my Mediafire download link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/11158kc1gua97mt/Add-On_Panama.rar
Extract the Add-on Panama folder and place it in the following location, provided BMS is located in your root drive: C:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data
Open the theater.list file using notepad. It is located in the following directory: C:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Terrdata\theaterdefinition
Copy and paste the following entries into your theater.list file:
Add-On Panama\Terrdata\theaterdefinition\Panama - Redux.tdf
Add-On Panama\Terrdata\theaterdefinition\Panama.tdfIf you have a previous version of Panama, such as 2.0b or 2.0a installed, there is no need to place the entries as described the previous step.
Save and exit.
Please enjoy Panama and report into this thread your results with human flying the new campaigns.

Gavin my friend,
First a Thank you for this new release of Panama theater as also to any rest guy that helped!
Now do a small but critical correction to your 1st post in order to not confuse people.
So make the specific lines that i mentioned to be as follow:Copy and paste the following entries into your theater.list file:
Add-On Panama\Terrdata\theaterdefinition\Panama - Redux.tdf
Add-On Panama\Terrdata\theaterdefinition\Panama.tdfIf not, then they will have for sure a no go…
Nikos. -
Thanks for the work.
The campaign folders are missing the required Theaterdefinition folders so the tdf files are missing.

The theaterdefinition folder is located in the \Add-On Panama\Terrdata folder. Not the campaign folder.

PS - can not view movie clips…?The original three Panama scenarios are WIP and ported over from the FF version. I left the ground/air unit compositions alone in respect for Malc’s work. The Redux campaigns are much more modernized and fix some of the issues you have mentioned. Movies were disabled due to the fact that no Panama specific film footage is available ATM.

redux-heavy metal campaign is so funny
just a report but I don’t know if it is a known issue, I can’t join and fly with 16+ squadron and it is not availible in order of battle relative airbase.
cheers and thanks again!

+1
While I rarly flew a mission in the last year, maybe one a month and then
molni’s 80’s campaign which is also lot of fun, I decided take a break
from other stuff and try Panama again. Now I flew 4 missions in redux-heavy metal campaign yesterday.
Actually I’m doing my homework for the next OCA Strike, TO Day 1 at 17:58:00,
(and end of last mission it looked like it will start to rain soon. ;))Honestly I’m still surpriced to see that those old “Tom Twaelti” (spell ???)
tiles don’t hurt the terrain more.
In contrary, they are still looking nice, … from a distance.Maybe Tomcatz is willing to take a hand on new tiles,
… would be just great, IMHO.Right now I’ve had a lot of of fun in this campaign, although I’ve fired just one A-A missile so far.
Cheers,

Chuckles,
and all who are involved of course, I’m flying a quick few missions in both the two campaigns of your theather.
About their story, I want to not comment anything about… they are stories, in a word, so let’s get them as they are, and let me to point out at this purpose that this mine is positively not a negative comment about, it’s the opposite instead.
About the missions… they work, not surprisingly. So, well done, my dearest friends, and keep on all the hard good job done since today. With best regards,
