Thrustmaster Cougar Data in/Data out issues
-
My hotas worked perfectly until today. It seems i’m missing a software program for that Data in and Data out ‘thing’
Does somebody know how to fix this ?
In BMS, when I go to setup, I can see the Cougar in the controller section but it does not respond or react on stick movements or when I press on the buttons.
I have Windows 8.1.
Thx in advance.

I would try to reflash your Cougar, maybe it responds again.

I know this sounds a little stupid, but sometimes we overlook the obvious. Is your Cougar selected in the Controllers screen? If so, also make sure the correct key file is loaded, and check the advanced properties for the proper settings. Every once in a while BMS likes to reset this stuff.

Well, I downloaded the software for the data in/out issue and that is solved, my computer says the device wors correctly but it still doesn’t work on BMS.
And yes, my controller is selected in the controllers screen but still no reaction, it still doesn’t work.
Do I have to uninstall BMS ?

AFAIK Windows could be touchy regarding USB devices.
Have you tried to unplug the cougar, reboot windows, replug the cougar?

Yes, I did, but didn’t help.

LSWell, I heard about that CCP, but I don’t have it.
Do you have a link ?
-
Yes you have it, comes with the drivers.

I dunno about Win 8 and Thrustmaster said:
Windows 10/ 8/ 7 - No drivers are required for this device
http://ts.thrustmaster.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=1&fid=3&pid=50&cid=1But IIRC I’ve installed 2007_HCO_VISTA_64_RC1.exe with Foxy4 ontop on my Win7x64.
I’m sure there can be found threads on this forum, which describe the Cougar install under Win8 well.
Cheers,

So did i.
Be sure to plug it in right in the desktop or powerd usb hub. -
Hello BMS mates, yesterday I ran across good news. Windows 10 has finally worked programming for the Cougar Hotas which works thru the Target GUI.I found that it includes full use of simped rudderpedals as well. Microsoft finally answered the complainants
call to get it in gear. I know they’ve made me one happy oldfart. -
Geezer33, could ypu elaborate? Do flashing now work with Win10?

The old software is very finicky with the USB designations. I have found with Win 10, probably with Win 8 and back to Vista, that if you have plugged the Cougar into multiple ports the software gets confused. You get write errors and all sorts of disconnects. I have found a program to use to uninstall the unplugged drivers causing the problem. Then I can manage to maybe download a profile once, and it works. But to download again I got to delete the drivers and start over. Target works great, but I am a software retard.

Even if the drivers are not installed right, it still shows it as the Cougar. I just highlight anything related to the Cougar, and uninstall them. Go into Device Manager and scan for changes. Should work now.
