HAD off and FCC submode
-
Good Day, All.
Loaded 4.33 last night and absolutely loving it. I do have 2 questions, however…- While in the HARM training mission the HAD page worked normally, in Instant Action I got “HAD off” on the HAD MFD page. I was in AG mode, HARM’s were powered up, and Master Arm -Armed. I even flew around awhile to see if it would time in(a’la Mavs), no dice. As I was in IA, I couldn’t check if the HTS pod was actually loaded( and at the time did not think to use an external view). I don’t see anything about this in the manuals, and it did work in training.
- For some reason, my Miss Step control never changed CCRP/CCIP/DTOS in 4.32, and that issue has “traveled” with me to 4.33. Back in the day we discussed it here without resolution, so I implemented a workaround of putting the FCC Submode command on my HOTAS.
I have just started the HOTAS reprogramming process, and I do not see FCC submode command in the new BMS keyfile. Does anyone see a problem with me transplanting that command into the new keyfile from the old keystroke file?
Thanks, and MANY thanks to those that have brought us 4.33

As stated for example in Dash 1, page 54 the MSL STEP in AG mode steps through CCRP/CCIP/DTOS (callback = SimMissileStep).
If you are referring to SimFCCSubModeStep: It has been replaced by DMS up / down and will be deleted in the future.I can not comment on 1, sorry.

I saw same thing with HAD off in campaign. I saw mention of a switch to turn on in manual, thus perhaps it is off by default as compared to 4.32?
UPDATE: from manual:
SMS: Select AGM-88 and PWR ON
LEFT HDPT PWR: Check ONThough, where is the power button/switch for the left HDPT?

HAD will be OFF if you don’t have a HTS pod. In IA you don’t so you can use the WPN HARM modes.

Thx, Kolbe. I am referring to the Miss. Step button (as you say is described in p.54) . For some unknown reason, though MS does what it should in Nav and AA, it does not in AG (CCRP/CCIP/DTOS) . In 4.32 I was using SimMissileStep for MS(where I had the same problem) . My workaround was what was called FCC Submode and don’t recall the callback.
And I-Hawk, thanks to you, too. I had the feeling that was what was happening. So, in 4.33 IA does not load the pod? BTW, I did check that the pod hardpoint power switch was on -

Yes, Sir. Everyone except… yours Truly. We had quite an interesting discussion about this over in FO, back in the day. Truly weird, and even weirder that it followed me to 4.33!
I suppose I’ll try to find the “FCC submode” call back and transplant it to 4.3. I wish I could just move my old keyfile over, but from what I’m reading that may not be a good thing.
While we’re at it, let’s triple check for operator error. If you’re in AG, Master Arm is armed, and you have a GP bomb or dumb cluster selected, the Miss Step button should cycle CCRP/CCIP/DTOS, correct? -
Can you post your key file?

Yes, Sir, and Thanks. I’ll do so when I get home. My plan for tonight is AR with my favorite beverage, and program my HOTAS!
