4.33 CTD on Launch - FIXED
-
Neither 32-bit or 64-bit was starting, every time I selected Launch it immediately crashed to desktop…
Downloaded installer was ok, setup and setting was ok / default. No mods, skins etc added. I’ve installed 4.33 exactly the same way, same steps, in 2 almost similar laptops, side by side. In the 1st one (main, older version of the series) always CTD. On the 2nd laptop (secondary - work machine, next version on the series with better CPU and more powerful VGA) everything was running great, both 32 & 64 bits, everything ok on 3D etc, so the installer was ok.
The event details as captured in the system Event Viewer on the 1st laptop is this here below, perhaps other users experiencing similar CTD’s might want to check if this apply to their-end too.

SOLUTION
Run 4.33 shortcut, click Configuration > Hardware, uncheck Triple Buffering. Apply Changes, Exit. Re-run 4.33, click Launch (either 32-bit or 64-bit), it now starts up normally without CTD!
At this point feel free to go to internal settings and select your desired values. You can even exit and try launching the other platform (eg 64-bit if you launched 32-bit in the previous step). You should again work ok now.
Finally, in my test as a last check after these I’ve re-entered Configuration and checked (enabled) Triple Buffering back. Tried to re-launch the game and it is actually working like a charm this time…
Not DX; guru here but as it seems it wanted to be launched the first time with no Triple Buffering enabled, then after some gizmos were activated/registered in the background it allowed proper operation.
Please share if you encourage this kind of startup CTD and this has fixed your issue.

Tried it before and with all settings no-go for me.
Probably a lucky thing on your end.

Sorry forgot to say thanx m8!
well in my win10 64bit 4.33 64bit runs…
One looooong shot will be to transfer the installed folders from win10 to win7 just in case.Other options to test as I read are:
Adobe creative cloud. I don’t have it in my falcon ssd but there is an adobe manager for updates… maybe it’s the same issue.
Saitek wheel drivers which I use for rudder petals…
Nvidia motherboard drivers… win7 are newer I believe but will try them also…
Final solution an OS reinstall.Strange thing that I noticed… in my win7 the registry had no pilot name nor current theater. in win10 the registry had the pilot name entry and current theater… both setups installed from the same setup file…
