Having issues with X55 in BMS4.33
-
Hi Guys,
I’ve read and tried to make sense of everything I can find regarding the X55 and BMS4.33 [referred to as BMS from this point on] but I’m still stuck! I hope someone can help me…I have looked at the PDF file supplied with BMS [BMS Keystrokes - Defaults] and listed all control keyboard commands I wanted to map to the X55.
I then set about programming these keystrokes as inputs in the X55 SSD software.
All checked out ok (in SSD), throttle and joystick programmed in Mode 1.
Loaded BMS and selected “X55 Stick” as controller.
Bound the throttle and check for the X/Y axis selections. All seemed ok, but when I press a button on X55 either in game or at controller set up page I don’t get the correct response.
The SSD software has been loaded, profile selected and loaded and program running in background.
On the previous version I used to bind the joystick directly in the controller page, this is the first time I’ve tried using the SSD software, I’m using version: 7.0.41.10 with the same for the driver number.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear you’re having problems also, my axis seem fine they ‘auto configured’ all I did was check them. As a side note I didn’t configure the axis at all in the SSD software, I didn’t change the curves or dead zones.Perhaps it maybe worth you creating a new blank profile then loading BMS and checking the axis under the ‘Advanced’ button?

As a X-55 user, I have programmed all my commands under the Advanced setup. No problems so far.

I haven’t had the opportunity to fly in 4.33, but I use the SSD software. I’ll give it a test to see how it goes.
-
I’m only using directx bindings with exception of the mini stick (radar cursor) and the airbreak which afaik can’t be seen by BMS. No problem whatsover with 4.33

I had no issues using the software.

Thanks to all for comments. I rebooted the PC then repeated the setup. I couldn’t get the ‘Stick’ commands to show up in the test screen when programmed in Mode 1 (pull down option). The throttle displayed perfect in Mode 1. So I changed all the settings over to Mode 2 for the ‘Stick’ and then all the keystrokes appeared in the test screen.
Upon loading BMS 4.33 and going to the Controllers section, all joystick and throttle switches/button presses gave the correct response.
So it’s sorted for the time being.
Why the Stick would only program in Mode 2 (pull down option at top of the list of buttons/commands) and not Mode 1 I’ve no idea?
The Mode switch on the throttle is in Mode 1. I did cycle it though so maybe that was/is the issue.
Thanks again for responses and advice.
See you in the sky!

I spent a good day reprogramming my x55. Almost there. Also, make sure to use the BMS-Full keystrokes as the basic or minimal will not have enough features assigned.

What are you using to do your programming? The inlcuded excel file editor is making my hear hurt as Ive been spoiled by the old stand alone keyfile editor which was a joy to use. I hope they update the callbacks in that program so we can use it again for 4.33

I’ve been doing the select-callback-in-setup, click joystick button, assigned dance without probs, don’t do anything special with the key file
