Spent 40 minutes trying to find speedbrakes control
-
looked ingame, couldn’t find it
looked in documentation, couldnt find it
googled it, found an old list for Falcon 4.0
oh well, it’s fun just flying around and trying to land

Hi and welcome.
Did you looked into the keymap in the SETUP/CONTROLLER … something about “SPD BREAK” on the TQS ?
-
The callbacks are:
AFBrakesToggle
AFBrakesOut “TQS: SPD BREAK Switch - Open”
AFBrakesInI included one of the text labels so it would be easier to recognize. It’s in the “2.19” section of the new key files. It should default to the “B” key with or without shift or ctrl modifiers but your key file may vary.
-
I’m way behind. I have no idea what a TQS is or a callback.

TQS = Throttle Quadrant System, you can find the command in your key file look for TQS

To go along with this question, I’ve mapped my throttle keys I want for the speed brake, however the I can’t get the speed brake to open and close incrementally. It only wants to either open fully or close fully. One click of the button and it opens all the way and same with closing. Is this supposed to be the way it is? Also I have not set the switch to “toggle speed brake”, I currently have a button mapped to open and one to close.

What is a gator cartridge ?
Thanks. -

Thanks.Don’t worry
I think you mean data cartridge, and just misspoke. -

Lightswitch94 I’m not sure why yours is working that way but I have a X-55 and I mapped SPD BRK OPN and SPD BRK CLSD to a 2 position toggle on the throttle which the game sees as a button press and as long as I hold the toggle it moves the way I want it and as soon as I release it the speed brake stops moving. The toggle speed brake set to another toggle and it does what you said. Hit it once and full open hit it again and fully closed.

Check external views, you are only looking the instrument, in 4.33 works different way than before
-
Yes check external view, in pit view the indicator goes from closed to 9 dots as per the real aircraft now.
-
I did check the external views and it does just open fully and close fully. I believe it may be something to do with the saitek programming software. Gonna have a look at it tomorrow and try reprogramming.
-
I didn’t use the Saitek program, I did it right at the key list page when you go to setup controllers. Just clicked on the keystroke then hit the toggle I wanted.
-
I do program most of my controls in SIM, however, there are a few hat switches on my x-65 that don’t seem to get recognized in the setup menu. For example the speed brake switch I use is on the throttle next to my pinkie. It’s a two way switch. I just mapped it with the programming software as per the call backs in the setup menu. I think I need to change a button functionality in the software.

This is expected behavior for the X-65F. It has more than 32 buttons, but DX only recognises 32 buttons (there are exceptions if the programmers worked hard. But this is a Saitek stick we are discussing). So, the K switch, the throttle box buttons, and the last two(?) hat switches on the back of the throttle all do not work as DX buttons.
To fix this, you want to make the keypress that BMS is looking for, for speedbrakes, to be a single keypress (i.e., not include a modifier like Shift, Alt, etc). You then want to program that keypress to the K switch position (and do the same for the retract speedbrakes keypress).
Saitek sticks do not typically like modifier keys. Just in my experience, if you use modifier keys with the SST software, you get ‘stuck’ keys that stay pressed after you only tapped them briefly.

They don’t call this a study sim for nothing lol. Still reading…
-
I would assume it should work since it is the exact same setup that I had in .32. Perhaps I’ll try remapping the whole thing.
-
Tried remapping and still didn’t work. The weird thing is that when I use the keyboard commands shift b and ctrl b they only sometimes work like normal. Most of the time the brakes only move will the keys are pressed, however on some key presses they just move to their fullest extent. Really weird behavior. Not really sure where to go from here.
