This is quite possibly the best simulation ever
-
As I read through the fabulous documentation the BMS team has put together for this beauty, I cannot help but conclude that this is way beyond anything I have ever seen, and I am positive I am not the only one thinking this. I consider myself a fan of sims in general, but nothing I have seen in 20 years of sim/gaming even comes close to this level of professionalism. Not Janes. Not DCS. Nothing.
Falcon BMS is that rare project (I would say a “once in a lifetime project”) where people with amazing skill and amazing passion collaborate to create something so astonishing that the community will be talking about it 20 years from now. I just want the entire team to know I personally appreciate the massive sacrafice you’ve made to bring this project to the community.
This F-16 simulation is amazing. And so are all of you!

Agreed!

The fact that people do this for free is amazing and i mean that in a good way.

4.32 was already good but 4.33 just stepped up the game. Honestly the only way you are going to see more realism of how the real A/C behaves is to jump into the sim that the AF uses or in the real deal. No one out there comes as close to RL as BMS for the F-16.
-
Totally blown away by 4.33 and by BMS in general… One thing is for sure, this sim is barely recognisable from its roots.

Amen

I played Falcon 4 back in the day, and I agree completely, It’s barely recognizable. BMS is a staggering achievement. Somehow I feel dirty, getting to play this amazing sim for free.
-
Agree totally. I played Falcon 4 - Allied Force, then Open Falcon years ago, along with Lock On and versions of X-Plane/Microsoft Flight Sim. I’m amazed at the attention to detail in F4 BMS though. Just started on 4.32, and was amazed, then a week or so later 4.33 drops! Its a totally new game and with some simulations dumbing down nowadays, its great to see people doing the opposite. Modding community rules. More realistic the better, and love the manuals also!
-
Im a real world Airbus pilot and used to play f4 over 15 years ago in high school… Now a friend got me into this just as 4.33 dropped and I am utterly amazed. This is so awesome and yes the free aspect seems to keep this sim focused on those who are passionate about it and their wants in the game. Nice to see the commercial things that bring others down stay out of this

If you take into account what a group of unpaid fans can do and what a company of paid professionals cannot do, this is such a towering achievement in the history of combat flight simulation.

In some areas DCS is more advanced than BMS4.33 and in some areas BMS4.33 is more evolved. Saying that generally XY is better is pointless. I can say exact examples if you wish.

I love it when games come out and there very realistic.
As said so many games are being dumbed down for the console market and tbh I think its the way most games are going now even on PC.
I miss when we got games like this that had the 1000000000 page manuals etc

Yes. DCS is not bad. But I really don’t have many praises for the people there. 10+ years, very little progress in the arena of modern jet fighters. F15C’s MFD still functionless. We still can’t fly R77 capable versions of su27. Cockpits are still very analog and not clickable. DCS flyables such as F15c, su27, mig29s, su25s are basically baby-stepped LOMAC birds. There are some additions such as mig21. While BMS is taking us more and more into the future, DCS is taking us more and more back into the past.
-
please gents don’t turn this topic into another DCS vs BMS topic.
We’re not interested and it was not the intention of the OP whose message was pretty clear wasn’t it. -
Yes pointless to bicker aout who is better… they booth get my support… I am glad we have a variety of planes and sims to fly alo so be happy for what bother try and do emulate flight in combat
-
I completely agree with the OP. The latest update is fantastic and I know I have just scratched the surface so far. I flew this sim back in 1998 when it was Falcon 4.0 and still get the same gratifying experience to this day thanks to the efforts of the people who do the hard work. It really is appreciated and I know I will still be flying this in many years to come.

I will also add that the community is amazing as well! I had an issue last night and multiple people chimed in with help. This entire project and all the people associated with it motivate me in other aspects of my life to be better. Being around excellence is contagious.
