Also: New BMS key file
-
Hi,
I’m a little unsettled because of
a) the different (identical) key files in C:\Falcon BMS 4.33\Docs\Key Files & Input
b) e.g. the TRIM keys
There is e.g.
SimTrimRollLeft 309 0 0x43 5 0 0 1 “TRIM: ROLL TRIM Wheel - L WING DN”But isn’t 309 already a button on a HOTAS?
Do I need to set this to -1?My old entry is
As Key
AFAileronTrimLeft -1 0 0XCB 4 0 0 1 “Trim-Aileron Left”
For my Coolie Hat
AFElevatorTrimUp 0 -1 -3 0 0x0 0
TIA for any help
EarlybiteEDIT:
Or do I need the ‘BMS-Minimum.key’ file?
Are the differences between this file and Full.key, and Blank.Key, etc.? -
The first number you are referencing is not a key command but the sound the button makes when actuated.
The 0x43 5 is the two bits in question for what key and what modifiers, if any, are in use.
-
One difference in trim commands is (or was) the difference between HOTAS commands and ‘pit’ commands …. the actual trim nobs. At one point I’d read that in the 4.32 commands those had separate purpose with regard to trim, i.e. where/how it was used.
I have not inspected the trim commands in the new keyfile(s), but that may be some of what you’re seeing.

I was a little irritated because of the missing keystroke.key file, but it seems that this now is the BMS-Basic.key file…
I’m still using my 4.3.2 keystroke key file (if my computer let me fly).
What I’ already searching for is the command for the laser beam on first detent… -
SimTriggerFirstDetent -1 0 0x35 2 0 0 1 “STICK: FIRST TRIGGER DETENT”

SimTriggerFirstDetent -1 0 0x35 2 0 0 1 “STICK: FIRST TRIGGER DETENT”

Thank you, sir.

Interesting. Possibility of thinking like the original designers of the aircraft did. The Trim/AP disconnect switch was put in there specifically in case of a runaway trim input from the SSC or a goofed up AP. It makes sense to have separate inputs for the SSC trim and manual trim panel if looked at in this way if they were going to design that as a possible fault to be seen.

Dont think that was it. The trim inputs on the stick run motors attached to the manual trim knobs. In effect its one input rather than two.
