CAT I And CATIII
-
The criteria for when to switch from CATIII to CAT I is a bit different from 4.32. I remember in 4.32, as long as you have wing tanks on, doesn’t matter whether you have dumped all AG ordnance, you won’t get warning to go CAT I. But in 4.33, as soon as you dumped all AG stores, the system warns you to switch CAT I even with wing tanks attached. Seems the jet tolerance has been relaxed in 4.33.

Have a look at this discussion starting with this post from earlier today: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?23481-4-33-Issues-(Known-or-not)&p=341986&viewfull=1#post341986

Whats the thoughts on moving those posts from that thread, into a stores limitations specific thread? Its starting to clutter it from being a general list of 4.33 issues.

But this is not a issue!

pandacats description of events is not a bug, its a feature. I was more talking about the stuff I commented on in the other thread, about how with wing tanks BMS still limits you to 8.5G instead of 9.0, and how BMS suggests CAT III for 4 AIM-120s and 2 wing tanks, when it should be CAT I, and how 6 AIM-120s and a jammer should be CAT I, which BMS correctly suggests on the loadout screen, but the MMC should think it to be CAT III, so when in CAT I you should get a STORES CONFIG light.
Seems like it could be moved off into the Stores Limitations thread I made earlier ( https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?23718-Stores-limitations ) without tracking it OT. It would also clear up the issues thread somewhat.

6AIM120 CAT1? Are you sure about your info? Same for wing bags? Because viper drivers give is another information about it.

And I would hazard a guess, that as with all things F-16, it depends on what particular F-16 you are talking about…
And as with all things F-16, I dont have any first hand experience with it, so I am as sure as I can be, without having ever actually gotten in one, programmed the SMS, and seen what the MMC decides should be the correct stores config.
If it helps, its a USAF CCIP viper Im talking about. Seeing as the whole CAT I vice CAT III thing is about safe alpha and roll rates, its not hard to imagine a config being initially introduced as CAT III then being later upgraded to CAT I after further flight testing.
