HAS mode in 4.33
-
Hi everyone
Have anybody tested the HAS mode in BMS 4.33? I’ve tried several times and failed miserably. Although I got a strong and stable lock over the radar and I wait the “RDY” label to appear before launch, my missiles overfly the target every single time. I’ve used POS or HAD with no problems, though.
Regards!

I did it last night vs. Fan Song.
On the control page I deactivated all types on Table 1 except “2”, locked it up and drove the post-lock symbol to the center of the display before firing. Be aware that if the Fan Song discontinues emission a miss is likely (that’s what the Spoon Rest is for).

Frederf is correct on the emissions. I personally keep the radar teased to reduce the chance of the radar turning off.

Ok, I tested again. As soon as the Gainful pops up in my HAS FoV, I lock, wait for RDY label and launch. Missed missile. But, if I wait until the Gainful appears in my RWR, then bang! HARM magnificently obliterate the radar.
May the bug be that radars appear in the HAS view even when they are not working or out of range? Because using HARM as Sensor, I can suppose that if I have a steady lock before launch, it will be the same after.
Regards!

The “RDY” indicator does not mean that you are in range. I believe it means that hand-off is complete. The important thing to do is to keep the radar active.

SA-2 BN contains both Spoon Rest and Fan Song. Maybe Spoon Rest is showing up as “2” on HAS display? Or maybe Fan Song is shutting off while HARM is in flight?
Tacview records looking first person of the missile would probably show exactly if/when HARM loses track.
