Cougar microstick problem
-
Hi.
Ive just got a new I7 system with win 10\. After installing vista 64 bit drivers for my cougar all seemed ok except for the microstick function. During calibration the setting range seems to be normal but when in ccp viewer the microstick either doesn
t move or jump from top to bottom of display. In BMS avionics setup the same thing happens, when connected to my old xp pc all still works ok. Not sure if there could be any conflicts but tried disconnecting all other devices with no success.
Any help or advise would appreciated.
Many thanks

Helping Coco setup His Cougar, He started setting up a TMJ file but got tired & frustrated, I think he was trying to map all the keystrokes, So we installed Target and every thing is setup already (with or without Target), just by plugging it in, EXCEPT the Micro Stick/Cursor control.
He is a longstanding Foxy user who had a profile made for Him by one of the 801st founding members in 2008.Can we have the good news 1st. And yes I have done a search and RTFM (Key Files & Input) Is it pointless using Target ?
So am I to assume that he must use CCP for the “Axis Setup”.
He also uses some Logitech pedals, I would guess that these have to be plugged in and setup last ??
Edit …. I’ll tell Him to use Duncs files, problem solved.

A buddy of mine updated his win7 box to win10 recently (a bit mindlessly) and has the exact same problem. We installed TARGET, but it looks like the microstick isn’t recognized at all on the stick. We also tried removing and re-installing the old vista drivers, but as the tm website claims no further stuff is necessary to get the stick to work on win10 that doesn’t seem like a good idea anyway.
Please keep us posted on your progress, we’ll do some further experimenting as well (like re-programming the stick on my win7 box using the Dunc_DX stuff from 4.33).
Cheers & good luck, Uwe

Hi.
Still had no success but think the problem is that no data is being saved in the .ccf file here is a copy of mine[Calibration]

After numerous e mails to and from Thrustmaster they have confirmed that there is a problem in Win 10 but as Cougar is no longer supported they cannot rectify it.
Does anyone know if the same problem would occur with a Warthog Hotas system using clean Win 10 install instead of upgrade from previous version of Windows.
Thanks

Thanks for keeping us updated. While I cannot comment on the Warthog issue here’s another great reason to stay with win7 for now… we’ll be doing some further testing tonight of his cougar on my gaming rig (which still runs win7 and will continue to do so until at least 2020 ;)), so if we find anything (like the microstick being indeed broken which I highly doubt) I’ll post here.
All the best, Uwe
