TFR Problems
-
Hey all,
I’m learning how to use the TFR and FLIR in the training TE and have the corresponding training manual article printed off and in hand and I’m doing everything like it asks. Then, when I’m airborne and activate the TFR it immediately starts yelling “PULL UP! PULL UP! PULL UP!” and the flight control pulls me into a steep climb and I can’t pitch forward, it just keeps climbing and climbing until I stall and it says TF FAIL near the MASTER CAUTION light, which also comes on, and it says AVIONICS FAULT on the caution panel. I have no idea what’s going on. I’ve done this mission three times and it happens every time. It just freaks out whenever I switch from standby to normal mode.
Any ideas what I’m doing wrong?
Thanks

What do you have your RADALT bug set at? Check that it’s at 290 or 190…it sounds as if the system thinks you’re starting below the warning threshold.
-
possible things you omit:
- RALT switch left in stby
- when you enter the weather, you need to activate WX mode. If not, the radar return will be messed up and the TFR will execute a FLY UP
My guess is on the second one
When you want to override a Flyup, depress the pinky lever on the stick.
but of course you need to fix the cause of the flyup before reengaging. Like if it’s a WX issue, the flyup will reoccurFrom the training manual;
Rain is a problem for the TFR because it degrades the radar conditions and you may start to get fly-ups even before you see the rain. Your first cue of rain when using the TFR will be a weird looking TFR MFD with scattered radar returns like that on the screenshot to the right. Whenever you are in severe weather you should switch the TFR to WX (Weather) mode, either by pressing OSB 16 on the TFR page or simply by pressing the WX button on the ICP. If you don’t use the WX mode the TFR will constantly try to fly-up to avoid the rain drops. Once in WX mode the TFR radar return will display the terrain radar return in a fluid curve again and resume normal operation.

It’s still doing it,just freaks out whenever I activate it WX mode or otherwise. My radar alt is set to active and my CARA ALOW is at 900 ft per training manual instructions. I’m starting to think it’s a big or something.

we need more info.
I use that TRN quite often and never have any issue. So sorry to say but if it’s a bug it’s likely origin is anywhere between the Aces2 and the stick -
No bugs in the TFR, it should be pure switchology issue.
- FLT Control switches are in the proper position?
- RALT is on?
- Are you within speed limits?
- Does paddle in the stick stops the pull up?
A quick video of the performed actions would surly help up help you.

Thanks guys,
I was in the middle of a flight where I was documenting the way everything was and I seem to have it working now.
It still pulls me into a climb, gives me an ‘avionics’ fault and yells ‘pull up’ when I bank over 60 degrees but I can reset it with the FLCS Reset switch.
If I have any more problems I let you know and I post with screenshots next time.

can you solve this problem ?, I have the same issue, its interesting eveything is normal in AMG-65 CAVOK training mission, all tfr thing is AS in manuel and Works good but in agm-65 with bad weather mission pull up pull up, yes even in wx mode, whats wrong ?
after some deep exploing I foun the only reason of this is make on “RDR ALT” switch just right of the FCR switch , there is an other “ALT RADAR” switch in HUD console, these arent same, so you have to make on RDR ALT switch… thats all, -
Is your radar altimeter switched on?
-
because of this is a training mission I expected its was choosen from sim and when I saw "ALT RADAR " switch is on at HUD console ,I thought its enough but ALT RADAR and RDR ALT switches arent same, little bit confusing thx very much

Looks like you have some work to do.
