All sounds drop in volume after low altitude warning.
-
Hi. I’ve been out of the BMS scene for a couple of years waiting for 4.33 to arrive. No it’s here, I’m back and starting over. I’ve noticed this bug so far.
First training mission, ground ops. F16 selected.
All sounds start out ok.
Take off.
Fly about.
Then as I drop altitude and the altitude warning goes off, the volume of everything else like engine sound drops in volume level and remains dropped. Is this a known issue and is there a work around?
I did a search but couldn’t find this one.
Ta,

Sorry can’t check from here … but for me, solution was into sound card settings. (I do not remember, maybe something like “egalisation loudness …” in Realteck setting panel.
-
So I’m not the only one! Solidarity! I can’t find any settings that could cause this in my realtek config. Certainly no equalisation option.
Just for the record I’m running Windows 7 64bit fully up to date.

During Ramp Start, test your system alerts via the button on the back left. Adjust sound volume accordingly with the ‘Intercom’ knob on the comms/volume panel. Once set (and left alone) volume should be the same relative level all the time.

Sorry, I forgot to say I opt to start in the taxiway so the ramp start has already been done effectively. Besides, as I said, all sounds are normal until I get a warning such as altitude when I descend for landing. Then the engine noise goes very quiet.
-
Regardless, you can still set the ‘intercom’ volume to an appropriate level. You can try it …. or not.
You say the event occurs following a voice warning message. I’m just saying ‘reset’ the that volume before the VWM is triggered and see what happens.

I shall give it a whirl tomorrow evening and report back.

Windows task bar, right-click speaker icon, playback devices, relevant device, Advanced tab, disable the two checkboxes, test. Alternatly, check for tabs such as “Enhancements” and see if there’s any loudness equalization or similar features activated, disable if any, test. Maybe that’ll help!

Right, I think I’ve stopped the engine and cockpit sound volume from lowering when the cockpit warning or radio voice sounds. I think it is the “disable all sound effects” option on the sound card that needed to be enabled. I think. I might experiment more tomorrow.
However, now that the volume remains constant for different “channels”, are the default levels for engine sound and switch clicks quite quiet in 4.33 or is it just me?
I suppose I could fire up 4.32 and compare.
