F-18 ramp start

Oh, OK. Well, the one I had in mind is probably just as ‘vague or half-ass’.
Maybe you’d be willing to make one in English that is more comprehensive?
-
Found a comprehensive check list for you (in English … ). Got the hint from Burner’s video … thanks for the link (MUCH less ‘vague and …’ than the one I’ve used).
Anyhow, checklist here: “F18-ABCD-000, NATOPS FLIGHT MANUAL NAVY MODEL F/A-18A/B/C/D 161353 AND UP AIRCRAFT, 7.1.4 Interior Check”

I found another utube by flounder. That’s you right?

Yeah, but don’t waste your time on that. Burner’s is far more comprehensive (and (attempts) to follow the check list posted above).

I like your screen resolutions though.

I started to translate the F-16 checklist provided with BMS into F-18ese but then I stopped because I realize I didn’t like the steps listed in the F-16 checklist too much. Operationally there are more steps in a different order than the provided CL would indicate. That’s normal as the total procedure would interleave several processes but as a total guide it feels funny. Anyway, I’ll share what I have so far.
The following is the F-16 Block 50/52 Checklists - Main Volume translated for use in the F/A-18 in BMS.

Btw, does WDP work for f-18s? Especially those saved DTC settings.
-
Yes. Avionics wise the F-16 is a Viper in Hornet’s clothing.

Thanks to all of your tutorials. I am able to get the jet started, fly off and land back fine. Just some minor questions:
1. I got this green light says “AI” on the right panel right next the UPC. Is it some kinda fault?
2. When I am landing the jet, the way FPM and AOA landing bracket behaves is very different from that of F16. In F16 when you increase AOA by pulling back on stick, the FPM will sink in the bracket. But for hornet, it’s the opposite way: increase AOA will push FPM up the bracket. Is it cuz my flap settings are off?
3. Also, once I take off, my “W” marker (gun cross equivalent in F16) disappears on HUD.
4. Dogfight mode, no gun cross. Kinda annoying. -
I’m guessing it’s RWR-related to seeing “airborne intercept” radar. Try if the “AI” is present in a TE with only yourself in it. I think “CW” is the search radar S from the F-16.
-
On the real hornet, the AoA landing bracket is backwards when compared to the F-16. Haven’t flown the 33 hornet yet, but I guess they implemented that feature.
-
…
4. Dogfight mode, no gun cross. Kinda annoying. With the gun in the nose of the F/A-18, isn’t the FPM more or less the gun cross?
Nevermind. I think this is incorrect thinking (for many cases).

Ok, I see. I thought I broke something, lol.

But in dogfite mode, you don’t c the FPM either. There is simply no reference. I saw VRS superbug has gun cross in dogfite mode.

Well here is something I don’t quite understand. The gap between “W” and FPM is supposed to be your AOA right? So when I pull on stick, W representing nose would go up and the gap between w and fpm increases, right? But in hornet, when I pull stick the gap is shrinking. Or it’s actually the bracket that’s moving not the fpm?
-
In the hornet the bracket moves around the FPM. In the viper the bracket is fixed relative to the pitch ladder.

Oh, I c. Damn, need some practice to get used to it. LOL

I think everyone would agree with that, 4.33 release has been fantastic for me, boosted my fading love of falcon (shame) back to its origional state, I’m having blast learning new stuff and blowing shit up. :D….well done BMS team.

In the hornet the bracket moves around the FPM. In the viper the bracket is fixed relative to the pitch ladder.
In RL the Hornet bracket also moves in reverse sense to the Viper bracket…the Indexers operate the same in each, but the Hornet one has two additional indications - “slightly slow” and “slightly fast”.
-
Also, the engine rpm counter doesn’t seem to work. I saw a few utube where the rpm works fine, with numbers going up from 25% to 70%.
