Saitek X52 Profiler doesnt work :(
-
Hello guys.
I own a x52 (no pro) and I have all the latest drivers, I have windows 7 and my usb port is 2.0 (I also use no usb hub). My problem is that everytime I use the Profiler program that comes with the x52 to load any profile, when I run any game, BMS Falcon as well and after 5-10 minutes or so, my Joystick just lose control, and I’m either unable to control my plane or the stick just goes bunkers and starts doing crazy things, if I unplug and plug it again it seems to stop, but only for it to start again 5-10 minutes after…
But when I unload any profiles (I have no profiles in my Throttle screen) then it never looses control and it works just fine! What am I doing wrong? Does that happen to you too?
For that reason I am unable to use the profiler therefore I am unable to use the pinky switch as a shift button and also unable to map multiple profiles and use multiple keybindings in the game… -
What names are you giving the presses in the profiler? I mean the names that when you press a button, the button and command name appears on the little blue screen on the throttle.
Loses control or looses?
Make them short and unmeaningful, if they are too long it crashes when you press that button. Mine are single char names to prevent that crash, probably overflow crash because its too long for the mfd screen. They hired crappy programmers to make that software. -
Um now that I checked back it’s true that my names were longer than one word, basically all my profiles were longer than 3 words each… ok let me put a short one word label and get back to you if I still have the same problem…
Well this is what happened so far… I load the profile, I enter the game, I play just fine for 5 minutes and then I loose the control of my Joystick, meaning that I can’t control the plane anymore using the Joystick… Some other times the Joystick acts weirdly in the game, for example, the plane starts descending or ascending for no reason without me doing anything and when I unplug my Joystick and plug it back again it reverts back to norma, giving me full control of my plane (or spaceship If I’m playing Elite Dangerous) and after 5 minute again, the same problem…
In a forum I read that one had figured out that was the profiler’s problem and indeed when I ditched my Profiler and all my profiles, it worked! (but again, you don’t have profiles support so you cannot map more keys using the pinky, etc…)

Check the manual for instructions. You don’t need the profiler to use the pinky shift as a multiplyer

3 words is way too long. Make sure all of them including the profile name is less than 3 characters to be safe. I had same problem, never crashed ever again after doing that. It was mentioned in some forum a long time ago.

+1
99% of the commands you need on the HOTAS can be done in the keyfile (UI and/or keyfile tool and/or manually) and without ANY Saitek SST headaches or conflicts.
