Beep! Sound file problem?
-
Hello,
Just flying the ground ops training mission on fresh install 4.33 64bit with Thrustmaster Cougar and Warthog triple screen, Windows 7 (fully updated) setup I sometimes hear 2 or 3 times a beep. Rather like the old MSDOS beep. This doesn’t sound like something that is part of the simulator so perhaps some sound error or corrupt sound file perhaps?
Anyone else hearing this?
Jim

Is this a new sound for 4.33 as I don’t recall this one in 4.32. It’s just single beep. I may only hear it once. It just doesn’t sound like something I’d expect to hear in an F16. I’m willing to be wrong.

Scuba
Are you looking a your PWR when you hear it ? Many of the RWR sounds have changed. And I don’t think the TacRef plays them now either.
If you are realy interest to find out go to Falcon BMS 4.33/Data/Sounds/Twi there are a few that use the same “peep”
MPC will play them (Media Player Classic)

No, I’ve not been looking at the RWR.mitbhappens so rarely at the moment I’ve not associated the two. I will bear it in mind. When I start flying in heavier traffic perhaps it will happen more often and I will learn the association. I’ll report back when I have gathered more intel.

Which mission are you flying?/F16 block?
Could be data link chirp? -
It’s the ground ops training mission. The first in the list. Vanilla 4.33 I install. No idea of block model. Unlikely to be data link on that mission as there is only the one F16 in the flight. There are two A10s and one other flight but I can’t remember what that one is. Sorry not at my PC until this evening.

i heard the same thing a couple of times.
i just found out that it is the ALR69SelfTest. it is a bit strange that i get this sound while flying for almost 15 minutes or so.
does anyone know if this is the correct sound for the self test?Dennis
just went scanning thru the soundfiles and it seems that there are more systems that are using the beep sound.
(the ogg files that use the beep are : sa3,sa6,skyguard,sa11,grillpan,clampag,adats,2s6) -
