Hello BMS Pilots,
New to BMS….still trying to my head around the SIM…need help in setting up my logitech extreme Pro joystick…was wondering if anyone in the forum is willing to share their profile {logitech extreme pro}. I have watched some youtube BMS instructions but struggling getting my head around in how to use TMS and DMS on this joystick.

3D Pro ?
you only have one hat switch and you will most likely be using that for view slew. So your going to have to have one hand on the keyboard.
Two basics, slew the radar cursors while you are flying and be able to lock and unlock a target (TMSup/TMSdown Keyfile section 5.11 Flight Stick in the game setup/Controllers Pg) Shift-Home & Shift-End on the top of the stick along with the pickle button
Focus on learning to fly and some very basic A2A activities first, then if you still love Falcon you will then be keen to save up for a decent Joystick/Throttle combo (HOTAS)
I did own a 3D pro, & still have a brand new one in the box for emergencies/visitors. Actually a friend still flies with one, we cant drag Him into the Twentieth Century, (lost cause)
And most important of all :rtfm: Good luck.

Started out w/ this stick. The best feature was the twist for rudder control, for two reasons.
- Didn’t have pedals at the time.
- When the twist pots finally wore out, I got a HOTAS and realized how much I was holding myself back.
Some more goodies you can expect to spend money on…
Headtracking - Several options.
MFD controls.
Rudder pedals - Not mandatory, but are super awesome if you like to ramp and have a lot of taxiing to do.
Logitech G13 makes a great UFC panel
etc. etc. etc.In the meantime, your stick is easiest to set up in the Game UI. Just go to Setup/Controls and click on a call back from the list, that you want to assign to a button on your stick. Then press the button on the stick that you want to assign it to and repeat until you have all buttons assigned. If you did it correctly, you will see the function displayed below the callback list when you press the button on the stick.
Unless you are a keyboard master, this stick isn’t going to cut it for much more than basic handling and landing. If you find yourself getting frustrated, it could be because of limitations of your hardware. The one exception here being the the awesome fully clickable cockpit can help you with your lack of buttons/switches, but in a fight or during defensive maneuvers, not having to take your hands off the Stick/Throttle is a priceless option.
BTW, X-mas is only a couple weeks away, and I’ve bagged most of my hardware by making suggestions for B-day and X-mas gifts. Great way to find out how much the missus loves ya!

Thanks Guys……yes it seems a HOTAS device are the best for these kind of SIMS… I hope some day I can purchase one

What I would love to see is the ability to use keyboard modifiers (shift, alt, ctrl) to enable multiple uses of each joystick button. I use this extensively in DCS to use my single coolie hat for trim control, TMS, CMS, DMS, etc. Seems like this should be so easy to implement.

I purchased 2 hotas controls very expensive ones and they broke their junk, could not handle the twisting
