Building a TE: possible to have AI not go defensive?
-
Not sure where to best post this question, and search attempts did not result in me finding an answer so here goes:
Is it possible when building a TE to have an AI flight not use any defensive maneuvers? For example let’s say I wanted an 8 ship of Foxbats to push high and fast to target an AWACS and give them the instructions to press on at Mach 2+ no matter what their RWR says. Or let’s say I just want to have some Flankers that follow their flightpath without questions so I can test my AIM-120s’ performance, is that possible? Or will AI always start defending and turning cold when they detect inbound AIM-120s etc?
Maybe through Mission Commander with a certain setting?
Thanks: and sorry if this is already covered somewhere, did not see it in the Building a TE section of the manual and was not able to find a search result.

Map set them to neutral or friendly

Tried setting them first neutral and then second attempt friendly relation to my team in Mission Commander (assuming that is how you meant it?) but they still turn and start chaff/flaring and try to avoid.

What you want is to have a drone to shoot at.
I solved that problem in the past by creating an entry to the DB without any sensor (no radar, RWR, and visual). then I set a flightpath in a training mission, and the target drone followed nicely. I used to practice stern conversions with guns.
They will start moving just when they are hit by your weapons.Hope it helps you or give new hacking ideas. (QF-16)

I dont want a drone necessarily, just want more control over the AI opponent’s behavior in order to generate certain scenarios for the player(s) to deal with.
Guess I just need to recruit a bunch of human red air

I see, sorry, BMS dos not support scripting of any kind in a TE. I agree with you, it would be nice though for some training missions though.
EDIT:
I always wished to be able to train as in the old days. Target towing for cannons!
