Cockpit mod- How to make the HUD and MFDs useable?
-
Hi,
I built an Eurofighter pit and I will make the HUD and MFDs useable.
So what I have to do in my 3ds max Settings? A Special plate, Name or material? I will use the F-15 pit for replace or an other free pit. Could anyone help me with a free LOD number?
Lookings Forward to all replys and
Cheers

Hello,
As far as I remember, HUD does not depends on the model, so you can put any LOD, you will have the HUD on the screen.
For example :
No special surface was ever added. HUD is just an “automatic layer”, on the screen.
I am not sure, if its dimensions can be modified. I would say no, but I may be wrong.
For MFD, you will need RTT surfaces. They are included in Dave’s exporter as far as I remember.
For the free LOD number, I can’t help you, but technically, you will need a parent file for :
- basic cockpit
- wings
- lights
- legs model if applicable
…
So, it will probably make 4 parents in the end, probably more. You can configure this in the CkptArt folder. You will also have to generate one folder which necessary, with both 3dbuttons and 3dckpit files.
