New to BMS - Need advice on Voice controllers
-
Good evening all,
Just getting into BMS but I have thousands of hrs in FSX, and Falcon 4.0
Going thru the forums, I noticed that voice command is possibly an option?
What do you guys recommend for BMS?
how well does it work for single player?Loki

I use KeySpeech with JCenzano’s profiles. With that combo covers every F-16 callsign from any positon in the flight. It also includes multiple phrases for each command for different callsigns of AWACs/Tankers/etc. and just different ways to say the command. It give a lot of flexibility and realism. I haven’t seen anyone else have this much detail and options with profiles before and the Keyspeech software is pretty good as well.

Thanks for the response you guys!
I like the idea of Keyspeech covering all call signs!
Snake122, is JCenzano’s profile compatible in BMS 4.33?Nick

Yes, even though 4.33 changed a tower command, the old phrase still works for it.

I use Keyspeech also. Works pretty good. I created my own profile. It’s not that difficult.

You can do the same with Voice Attack. My biggest complaint with VA is that you can only assign one joystick DX button as the hot key, but I want both my UHF and VHF transmit buttons to work!
I tried KeySpeech, but prefer VA’s GUI.

Hehe yeah true, but you should be able to have callsign specifc profiles on any decent Voice program. Back in the day I used to use ShootComms to build similar callsign specific profiles for Shoot.
Does anybody have the level of detail of JCenzano’s? I’ve seen Crazy-Canuck’s for VA and while I’m sure they were a lot of work, they didn’t seem to be as detailed. JC made at least 5 ways to say every command, sometimes many more, and then each of those ways then every callsign on top of it. This not only gives you more realism, it also actually gives you more leeway in what you say.
Keyspeech does support two DX buttons. It used to be a little problematic, but the latest versions work fine.

Thanks for the tip…works well and I like it best of the options I’ve tried so far.

A question to the Keyspeech users in here: I have to hold my PTT button for like one second once I’m done talking, else it won’t recognize my command. Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks

I’m experiencing the same, can someone elaborate if this is normal behavior?

I use Keyspeech and it is great. At first it didn’t work sometimes. I haven’t had problems since I began loading it last before entering F4. It allows DX input for talk key.
When I push the talk key I only have to wait until the first radio menu appears, then I can release and the command continues to runs.
