Strange MP problem: JFD not working during RAMP start
-
Hi Gents,
last tuesday we encountered a strange problem i’ve never seen before: during RAMP start most of us couldn’t switch the JFS on (yes, we know we have to press the right mousebutton
We had to exit the mission, as it was already late we decided to enter with TAXI to get airborne. It was a TE with 24 human pilots hosted on our dedicated server, F16CM-50 out from Fukoka. TE is attached.

Hiya Reaper
sorry haven’t downloaded the mission yet but
can you do the JFS in solo ?
did you try the key combination apart from clicking on the switch ? -
Sorry, can’t try it before tomorrow, but i will report back ASAP!
What puzzled me was that so many had the same problem and just a few could switch it on. The JFS switch didn’t move but i could hear the click sound (with mouse).
I just asked, one of the guys able to turn it on used also the mouse.
-
Did any of the people with the issue happen to try flicking any other switches? (light switches for example) to see if those worked? Any alt-tabbing going on?
-
I could switch other buttons with success: Battery on, COMM1 & 2, Lights …. no ALT-TABing done.
-
one thought did anyone leave the mission or ctd before this happened ?
-
Yep, one jet exploded immediatly as the client arrived in 3D, then he left the mission. No CTD apart from that.
-
possibly could be the cause but that’s just a hunch though
I would say try to see if you can repro it if you can report back
-
Same block type as you always use? I’ve noticed in some jets you do need to click left on the JSF instead of right (MLU-BE for example IIRC).
-
A Block we used the first time AFAIK. But as a right-click didn’t work i tried of course also left mouse click to get it running.
-
Made a short test online with the same TE: RAMP start worked flawless.
But i wondered that i found myself at an other parking spot than on tuesday although i took exactly the same jet from the same flight as tuesday.
-
What airbase? Kunsan for example has different spaWn points Depending on active runway
-
Fukoka. I always thought the spawn points are filled in sequence depending on the active runway, in this case i should have spawned in the same spot as thuesday …
Damn, didn’t check if the wind was the same. As there was a .twx file in the TE included i guess the wind should have been the same.

Did you join at the full 20 minutes? If you join somewhere after 20 you can interrupt the AI’s engine start and expend his JFS bottle without even knowing it.
-
Jep. We always have at least 30 mins. to the first Flights T/O time when we go RAMP. First is the “serverflight”, 1 min. later the first human flight, all other flights follow in 30 sec. spacing.
