No Video From Maverick
-
Hi Folks,
I’m getting there slowly but surely…
Last night I messed around following a video tutorial… I’m pretty sure I’m doing most of it right - my radar is in GM mode - I powered up my Mavericks on the SMS screen - I waited for the time-out message to go away - I can move the cursor on the HUD to slew the weapon head around in PRE mode - but - the tutorial states to press “uncage” [Shift-U] to get the video to turn on… The right side MFD is SOI - but - when I hit uncage - I still don’t get video… The Mavericks will fire but they just dump straight into the ground in what appears to be an unguided mode… Any idea on what common mistakes would cause the no video issue ???
As always - thanks for your time and patience…
Regards,

Scott,
Try just ‘u’ without the shift. If that does not do it, you can go into your controller in the setup and see which key is mapped to uncage missile.

The most common mistake I see which causes this exact “fault” is to fail to go to master arm from off to arm. If the master arm switch is off you will not get video feed.

You have video feed if :
-
as told earlier : Master Arm On
-
Maverick powered, countdown finished (3 mins) (before or after MAster Arm on, doesnt matter)
-
missile is uncaged.
Basically, you have a cache in front of the missile lens that you remove with ‘u’. You need to uncage each missile before targeting and launch.
EDIT : as told earlier, you need to press U, and not Shift U, to uncage. Thats is, if you use the default keystrokes.
