Shift key problem
-
Hello, in 4.33 I’m using the putbuilder keyfile, which is full of command with “shift” key and I’m having a lot of problems as sometimes switches moves by themself.
Testing the keyfile I discovered that the “shift” key stays in memory even if you release it and press another key.
For example if you press “shift”, then release it and wait several seconds and then you press “g”, what you get in BMS is “shift+g”.
On the opposite, if you press “alt”, then release it and immediately press “g” you correctly get “g” in BMS.
This cause me a lot of troubles, could someone suggested me if there is a way to have the shift key works as “alt” or “ctrl”?

Have you tried a different keyboard?

That sounds a bit weird, i’m not using the pitbuilder keyfile myself but can’t imagine it’s keyfile related. The shift key should not be memorized, i use the BMS Full keyfile and have no problems with the shift button. Is it the keyboard shift or are you using a controller for the shift input?

Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but I tested it with different keyboard and different PC.
I have also asked a friend to try on his PC and it is the same.
Could you please make a test on your BMS version?
It’s just easy, open the setup menu and into controller page just push “shift” then wait several secons and push a letter.
You should get the shift+letter result.
The problem is that, if you just use a keyboard, you cannot send two commands in the same time but if you have a full pit, like I have, it is very easy to send two commands very close one to another… -
You are right if you do the checks in the controller setup menu, just verrified that. But it doesn’t memorize the shift while flying. That’s something strange what happens only in the setup page i guess. I noticed before that shifted controller key bindings also don’t show up in the setup menu. Once in the air, it works perfect.

I also have a pit and have no problems with switches “changing on their own”.
What is your interface for switches?
If it’s a matrix, do you have diodes?
Maybe it’s a ghosting problem.??
