Request rescue chopper
-
Hi!
From the org. F4 man:
“Request rescue chopper gets a rescue chopper to your location after a friendly aircraft is shot
down. AWACS will note your position and try to send a chopper to find the downed airman.”What if *you are shot down, has it an effect for you too? Anf if, which?
(I’m asking, because sometimes you’ve been shot down, you got rescued and sometimes not. Is it eventually increasing your chances to be rescued…?)Greeting

EarlybiteDon’t rely on your wingman to request a rescue chopper.
When I get hit, I immediately call for a rescue and eject if need be.
I’m positive it helps, but of course if you are extremely far from the Flot then the chances a rescue chopper can get you is a roll of the dice.
Just like your quote from the F4 manual, “AWACS will note your position and TRY to send a chopper.”
It won’t always work, but calling for a rescue chopper yourself, I’m sure, enhances the chances you will get your sorry rear rescued, LOL

You must be within a certain distance from your front lines in order to be rescued and its not very far.

I think you are correct, I may be mistaken for thinking it is 30 miles from the FLOT?

I think you also have to be within a certain range of where the CSAR capable helos are based, 100nm?
