Reduced fps in Bms 4.33.1
-
I too got better frame rates with 4.33.U1 over 4.33 don’t know why and don’t care, just glad of them ;0) - many thanks.
-
I Tested with my 8Years old PC,
-I5 2,67Mhz
-SSD60GB- AMD R7 240/4G
4.33.1(FPS 30-51 with a bit Stuttering and not all Eyecandys on.)
With all eyecandys i have on this old Guy 25-31 FPS no external Windows(MFD etc.)
4.33 (FPS 30-38)I think 4.33.1 is Faster as 4.33 on the same PC
This weekend testing on my Flying PC

The reason for the better FPS is from some optimization that was done on the terrain rendering, so it should also affect TGP/WPN views because these are also drawing the terrain.
-
After a number of testing and setting all graphic parameters to the same point in both 4.33 and 4.33.1, verdict is there is an improvement in fps in 4.33.1.
Thanks for all the advice guys…… Red dog, ihawk.
Great work bms development, you guys rock. -
- 20 fps here on a three monitor setup. Not bad guys. Not bad
-
For me too at least +15 fps compared with .33 base. Great work!
-
Same here I got + 15 fps compared with 4.33
Thank you guys ! -
I have two monitors, the main with 1920x1200 and the sencodary with 1280x720 (MFD’s and instruments) to flight without GM Radar and TGP, my FPS are between 40 and 39 in the mission “instant action, moving mud” with it activates go down to 25-30 FPS. When I throw chaff and flares down further to only 14 to 15 FPS even with activated “system particles reduced”, I do not notice any change to enable or disable that setting. In the previous version I had almost the same, perhaps 1 to 2 FPS’s more in the latter.
My system, AMD Phenom II x4 965 (3,6 Ghz per core), Nivida GFX 560 Ti DirectCU II, Windows 10 x64.

In fact I tried lgb amd mav training omission and I get no fps loss with both tgp and wpn Windows shown…but I have v-sync so it is fixed at 60fps while on 433 I had 50 with both windows on and 60 without on the same missions.

Is there a way to show fps with BMS? I’ve tried with the AMD gaming evolved app and it doesn’t work.
And yes, I tried searching for this answer myself.
-
ALT-C, then F (for me)
-
Or some .key Ctrl-Z then R
-
I see ctrl-z : r sim fps on my control list but it just doesn’t do anything. Nothing gets displayed on my screen when I hit ctrl z and when I press r it just brings up flight comms.
Also, while in Controllers, if I press Ctrl-Z it says it is not assigned.
-
Does the ALT-C: F work? By command list are you saying the one in the controllers menu in the UI? It would be once you get in the plane you press ctrl+Z then release and hit the R
-
No luck with alt-c : f .
Yeah I’m talking about the controllers menu. Its really weird that it doesn’t work for me. Didn’t work in 4.33 either.

Check for this line in your .key file:
OTWToggleFrameRate -1 0 0x21 0 0x2E 4 1 "SIM: Display Frame Rate - Toggle" ```_(from the BMS - Full.key and DUNC_DX.key files)_ You can see a full list of other "key combo" commands in the retro keyboard layout guide, located in the docs folder: ..\Docs\Key Files & Input\Keyboard Layout Files
-
Alright, I don’t have that exact line, it is written as:
OTWToggleFrameRate -1 0 0X13 0 0X2C 2 1 “Sim-Frame Rate”
-
Yeah just remember alt+c - r is “generate random failure” i keep falling on that one (thanks evil, evil bms devs )
alt+c + f is frames per second

Have just installed BMS on a loan PC from work
Its an Alienware 6700k, GTX970, and 16gb of 2133 DDR4 ram… @ 1080pAveraging around 100fps in basic instant action mode, with all scenery & details cranked up to full. The scenery really does look great…
Will fire up one of these more demanding scenarios for a better test
