How to program GLANCE FORWARD and CHECK SIX in T.A.R.G.E.T sofware?
-
Anyone can help me with this topic would be very appreciated!
I am quite proud I managed to program all what I needed in the GUI of TARGET for most of the unshifted functions (TMS, DMS, etc…) and I made shift button and I have all the views and padlock, etc. functions with shifted buttons, great.
But somewhat, I cannot manage to make GLance forward and GLance backward to work… if I assign them a PULSE action in target, they flicker for a 1/100th of a second (I understand since in game we would have to hold the key, I think SHIFT-KP9), therefore I tried a HOLD action and now any time I punch the relative button (I assigned a SHIFTED POV foward), it sticks there and doesnt come back when I release???Any advice, thanks!!

I think you want snap not pan. Try to be in the “2” cockpit (snap) and not the “3” cockpit (pan).

You could just assign the button to keys in the Keyfile.key rather than via Script/Target
Then they hold as long as you press the button.
Mine are on the NUM PgUp & PgDn keys._#keystrokes
OTWGlanceForward -1 0 0x49 1 0 0 1 “VIEWINT: Glance Forward”
OTWCheckSix -1 0 0x51 1 0 0 1 “VIEWINT: Glance Backward”#Throttle controller Coolie Hat Up & Down
OTWCheckSix 21 8 -2 0 0x0 0
OTWGlanceForward 23 8 -2 0 0x0 0_In Target, It should work with Hold set. The Above example for CheckSix on Coolie Hat up would read:-
EventName: checksix
Key Command: KP9
Type: Hold
Delay: Default
Sequence: unchecked
I haven’t tried it in Game, but it works in the Event Tester.
The Script Line looks like this: MapKey(&Throttle, CSU, KP9);BTW, Checksix works fine in the 3d Pit.

If you use the target GUI any keystroke that needs to be assigned a hold action such as a trim function you need to reassign the keystroke to a single key. For some reason you can’t use a key combination like shift+T for a hold action. Use the keystroke editor in the docs/key files & imput folder to make the necessary changes.
