F-35 in falcon 4.0 4.33

Yes, with SAMs over Vietnam and North Korea, not with MiG-21 or above NSWP or USSR.
Where did I say anything about USSR???
I think you read into my posts too negatively. I simply said that they have tried to shoot the Black Bird down. Perhaps I should have mentioned specifically who, though RL stories will be hard to find. A few are around but there should be more stories at some point in the future as they may get declassified. Also, that latest article had SA-4 and newer systems that launched against the Black Bird. So, not just the SA-2.

SA-4? I doubt. I was never exported outside of USSR and WPACT and as I have said these SAMs never alunched a single missile against SR-71 because never violated the airspace of WPACT and ussr. Not mentioning SA-4 is not PVO system so it never was in alert to defend the airspace…

Read the last link I posted. Over Libya, they fired Sa-4 during there “egress” turn. It is a good read.

I quickly increased our speed, calculating the time it would take for the weapons-most likely SA-2 and SA-4 surface-to-air missiles capable of Mach 5 - to reach our altitude. I estimated that we could beat the rocket-powered missiles to the turn and stayed our course, betting our lives on the plane’s performance.

Libya never had SA-4 and none of SA-2/5 were M5.0 capable. So after these pls. allow me to ignore you link…

The guy does say “most likely SA-2/SA-4” and they did have SA-2s. And he’s a pilot… therefore only 10% of his story has to be true :D.

I see. And, you know for 100% sure that Libya had no SA-4’s? Hmm. I guess what ever any pilot says is bogus from now on. Only trust what Molni says is 100% accurate and true.
I don’t see a need or reason to offer any further comments to you. You would simply refute them. Being that you know everything with history in this matter and all of what other pilots say about it is rubbish. I admittedly resent arrogant people. Since I will not argue over something as “trivial” as this, I continue to rely on any facts and observations to those “in the know”. I do not consider you “in the know”. I think you have done good things for the community, but you also are arrogant. Please continue on with your rants and raves. I’m going to take a nice long vacation from the forums. No need for any of my insights, as you all have Molni. Enjoy……

I confess, not the way I expected an F-35 thread to go.

Here, I’ll help so we don’t have to… :):
[sarcasm]
-It’s not as good as the F-16. Payload sucks and fuel/range sucks
+You can put external fuel tanks and additional weapons so it can carry more range and weapons than the Viper
-But then it’s not stealth anymore and has same RCS as an F-16 with 5xs the cost per hour to operate. What’s the point?
+It doesn’t always have to be stealth. Once the IADS is down, there’s no reason for stealth.-They should’ve bought the block 60 Viper or the silent eagle
+The silent eagle is very expensive too and the block 60 is only a 4.5 gen fighter without stealth. Neither are replacements for the Harrier or meet the USN requirements. And the F-35 capabilities are literally decades ahead of those aircraft.+The Navy needs a first strike aircraft and that requires stealth
-Single engines suck for the Navy
+When a catastrophic failure happens in jet engines,it is likely to destroy both engines when close together like the Hornet so it’s no different
-Try telling that to all the navy pilots who have lost an engine or landed with only one!-The IOC dates have been changed several times due to all the bugs with the block 3i software, helmet not working, and ejection seat being unsafe
+But you can see through the plane with that helmet! And I’ve seen them taking off of boats already. IOC is just around the corner.
-Ya except the Marine B version jet engine melts the landing deck of the assault ships and requires all them to be refitted to deal with the high temps now = even more $$$
+Still, the RAF and USMC needed replacements for the Harrier and it gives them capabilities they never had.-It can’t dogfight
+It will kill the enemy before the dogfight
-That’s what they said about missiles in Vietnam - and reminiscent of the F-4 in vietnam, the C and B models don’t even have an internal gun!
+There’s an external gun pod
-There goes stealth again!-It’s a giant waste of money and will cost 1 billion per airplane.
+That’s just development costs. But once economies of scale take into effect they will be cheaper
-Ya if every NATO country buys 500 of them!
+It’s a force multiplier though - it can feed information to other 4th gen fighters plus all the partner nations will be on the same software
-Ya, software that can be hacked by the Chinese-It can’t do CAS like the A-10
+The A-10 would never survive against a near-peer adversary. The F-35 can.
-Stealth isn’t relevant anymore. China and Russia can already track stealthy airplanes
+Only at close distances can they get a target track good enough to shoot at, and by then stand off weaponry will take them out
-Not the S-400 or S-300 though.
+The F-35 doesn’t fight by itself in a vacuum- it fights with other sophisticated ECM/jamming support aircraft, cruise missiles, MALD decoys, etc… that in concert have the potential to overwhelm even the most advanced IADS.-Concurrency sucks
+You suck
-No, you doThen thread gets closed.
Link to article saying the F-35 sucks at dogfighting
Link to article saying that the article above is bogus

Demo, you need to put in a personal attack or two or three sooner with a warning from a mod that the thread will be closed if it happen again. Your list has waay too much constructive discussion to resemble RL

Some very good research released this year on Libya confirms they never received any SA-4s. Also the pilot isn’t lying, they could have had bad intel that it was an SA-4, ECM equipment on the SR might have given false ID, or it might just be a typo in the article.
S-200VE (SA-5) were definitely received and several were fired at US aircraft in the 80s (also some sites were fired at by HARM).

He also forgot the old classic “ask the grunts what they want”, because CAS, aircraft sensors, etc. is the very strongest forte of the 20 year old rifleman unaware of what either AMRAAM or SAM means! Scrap all planes that don’t have two engines and a GAU-8!!!
-
You got that backwards there Scrim… planes dont have a GAU-8, the GAU-8 is the only gun in the world fancy enough to come with a plane attachment…

The A-10 replacement
-
I see. And, you know for 100% sure that Libya had no SA-4’s? Hmm.
Yes, because it was a definitve policy not to export it outside WPACT. Period. Many weapon system was categorized similar to this, such as automatized GCI and SAM control.

The A-10 replacement
That thing looks like an ALIEN from the ALIEN vs PREDATOR !!!

The Fort Lauderdale Air Show will be the first civilian show to feature the new F-35 Joint Strike Fighter aircraft, May 7 and 8, Yeeha!
Do you know which F-35 version ?

YES
“The two F-35A Lighting II Joint Strike Fighters will arrive from Luke AFB on Thursday, May 5th at approximately 3:30 pm. They will be visible in the skies over Fort Lauderdale Beach as they conduct an aerial site survey.”
