Begging for help, ready to give up.

Would be happy to help, but I know next to nothing about the CH hardware, and I only have about 10 hours time in use on Falcon on a three screen setup.
Normally the mousewheel controls zoom, so you should be able to zoom out from the HUD.
-
Well do you know the general procedure of setting up controls in the game? The documentation that came with the game seemed pretty insistent on setting up via the Key File Editor. Should I just try to manually setup through the in game options?
Also if you at least know how to configure BMS for triple monitor that should solve my issues. I tried using the mousewheel and it didn’t let me zoom out.
I don’t have an issue with actually learning the sim, my problems are entirely setup related.

About my guide you must missed the point where u have to do the same change on all f16 variants.
This is changed if u reread the thread a kind member updated it with a new post at the end of the thread.
So have fun.

Arty,
Ice’s post seemed to imply that I only need to edit one single file .cfg or is that not true?
Do I still need to open and edit every day and night cockpit .dat file? I did not do that and that would probably explain my issues with triple monitors.
-
Nope just that one and only cfg file. Nothing else.

I use a triple screen 1080P set-up. You need to go into your falcon config file and set your FOV setting to anything above 130. I think there are two settings one is the default and one is the max setting. I believe at 5760x1080 the max fov is about 130 anyways. That should takecare of your fov problem.

I don’t know CH either. but before you program any inputs with the stick software set as much as you can in the Falcon/BMS controller setup page.
I won’t go into details, you need to get familiar first.
Docs folder/Falcon BMS Manuals/TO-BMS-16CM-1.pdf pages 26 on for Throttle Grip & page 54 on for the Stick (SSC).
The beginning of TO-BMS-16CM-34-1-1. pdf will also be usefull.
I have done BMS on three 24" a long time ago, but that was ATI & 3000 beers since.
Good luck

Ive not used the keyfile editor, so I couldn’t speak as to how well that works. Initially I would manually set up with the in game setup menu; then when you have a good idea what controls you want where, Id go back over it using a text editor to create an appropriate keyfile. Initially you just need the basics though. That means stick and throttle axes - avionics buttons and axes are optional for learning the jet initially, they are important only for learning the avionics.

Okay so I only need to edit one single .cfg as Icy said. Got it.
As for the FOV I am using bezel correction so I have 5860 x 1080 so maybe I’ll use FOV 135?
I will go consult the -1 and -34 manuals as well. Shadow is there any reason you stopped using triple monitor?
Blu3wolf I’ll try it your way and program basic things through the in game menu.
I’ll report back tomorrow how this all goes.
Many thanks to everyone, great community much love.

.
I have my 3x 1080p displays setup in nvidia surround with bezel correction. Thats about where all the good new ends.
I can’t seem to get my controls to work. I have a CH Fighterstick and Pro Throttle. Yes its running in mapped mode. Yes I have saved and applied the profile.
I run with 3 monitors just like you, works great…you just need the horse power to support all three.
As far as setting up the controller, I have the same CH products and CH paddles, they work great with BMS with the Key File Editor. Do yourself a solid favor and use the included Key File Editor, learn it and you will be very thankful once you do. Its not really that hard to figure out if you stick your nose in it. Good luck!

Shep as for horsepower I’ve got it in spades.
Asus Maximis VII Hero motherboard
Core i7-4790k with Noctua NH-14S
32 GB DDR3-2400
EVGA GTX-980 SC
Samsung 840 Pro 500 GB
Asus Xonar D1 sound card.As for the Key File Editor it doesn’t really make sense to me, and I’m someone who uses excel semi regularly. I had found some videos which kinda explained it, but maybe you would be willing to record your own walkthrough on how to use it?
-
I’m a bit with you on the “Key File Editor”, I never really could see what its function is, and I must admit I never found a reason to find out.
As for the triple monitors go I don’t recall why I gave up on them, I remember using it a lot with Black Shark, cant say for shore ??
I do remember using one monitor to display “TeamViewer” with our server as a active connection, and other things on the other monitor as well. Our squad was a bit more active back then and need access to TS2/3 on a regular basis also.

Not sure if this will help you but Snelle has done a fantastic document regarding editing key files for BMS. It’s based upon using a X55 (my current HOTAS) but I’m sure reading that in conjunction with the Keyfile documentation in your install will help you. I can’t post link to forum post as using tablet and tapatalk right now, but it’s in the Input/Output section, under Saitek, X55 Key file - fully programmed version 5.0. There’s a link to the documentation only you can download.
It really helped me understand how Windows and BMS ‘see’ USB controllers.
Hope it helpsSent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

Just my 2 cents, I’ve never used a Ch stick (I’ve got X-65), but I programed my stick pretty much inside the sim options. Works perfectly fine. Only thing I had to use the profile editor for was some of the hat switches. Not sure if this helps you out at all but thought I’d throw my experience in there.

I can’t seem to get my controls to work. I have a CH Fighterstick and Pro Throttle. Yes its running in mapped mode. Yes I have saved and applied the profile.
Which profile?
Can we just confirm you have read and followed the instructions in the CH Fighterstick and Pro Throttle HOTAS DX Setup guide in your \Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Docs\Key Files & Input\Device Setup Guides & Profiles\CH Fighterstick & Pro Throttle folder?
-
Worther, is that stuff from Snelle on the forum or is it inside the install directory?
Darkman, one of my issues with the Key File Editor is that its instructions are little hard to follow at times. I had posted about it in this other thread.
https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?27143-How-to-use-the-Key-File-EditorAt this time I think I’ll try to print out the diagram showing the key bindings in the Key File Editor and try to enter those manually in the options menu.
-
?
I didn’t say anything about the Key File Editor. I was asking you about the profile that is included in your installation, which was designed for your CH setup. Are you using it? If not, why not try that before starting to build one from scratch?
-
Wait what? I didn’t find any sort of profile within my installation. There were instructions in a pdf to create said profile.
I am following along in the “DX CH Fighterstick and Pro Throttle” pdf file, but I don’t really understand what to do when we get to page 6 in the section which says “Define DX button map”.
I open the spreadsheet, enable Macros in Excel 2007, and then I got kinda lost so I started following the videos in the link I posted to the other thread.
Are you saying there is a pre-built profile for the CH already?
-
You tell me; I’ve never owned CH kit.
Are the .cms and .map files in that folder not a pre-built profile for your CH Fighterstick and Pro Throttle?
-
Okay I am going to uninstall BMS, clean the registry, and do a totally clean install and find out if there is a pre-built profile.
