Not sure tbh, I had to make the change for mine under Win 10. Turn it off and they stay connected otherwise they bounce back and forth. .02

Did you install the software that comes with the MFD’s?
Yea I did. I did it so long ago it may be fixed by now though.

I use Windows 10, absolutely zero problems with software/hardware here. I would even say that T.A.R.G.E.T. works much better (faster) now than on Windows 7.
Does that include the new version of target as people are experiencing problems with it.

FWIW, I’m using Target 1.0.11.304 with no issues that I’ve noticed at all.

I see, don’t upgrade as the new version has a bug that stops dx 18 cms left button working.

This statement is incorrect in my experience. I have not had to touch the registry and my MFD’s work fine.
As per usual lots of misinformation on the web…
Perpetuated by people like you. I’ve had win10 on my PC. And the issue I’m talking about also plagues win8 and 8.1.
Now it might be that it got patched. But for shits and giggles why don’t you do a quick Google search for cougar mfd win10 constantly disconnects reconnects . The issue is real.
I’ve had to tweak in the registry.
Long version is that the cougar mfd are silent as it were. It does not send any data until you press a button so windows thinks that the device is not in use and puts it to sleep. But as soon as it does that the mfd windows tells windows that it should not be asleep. And that cycle repeats constantly.
The cougar windows aren’t the only device that can exhibit this behaviour but windows has a list of vid nrs submitted by the manufacturer so that this function of windows won’t trigger. Unfortunately thrustmaster did not send this in to Microsoft. But i know a fair amount of people on the DCS have done so.
I do not know why this issue does not affect everyone running win10 and win8. Probably setting in windows related but I cannot be sure.

Good to know sub101, I try not to mess with stuff if it’s working.

I had the mfd issue when I updated to win10, but I downloaded the latest drivers and the problem stopped for me.

interesting, so the drivers probably apply that fix to it as well, i know thrustmaster was aware of the issue at least and was pressing microsoft for a long while already.
but for me who only uses the mfd windows and nothing else from thrustmaster it would be silly to install drivers/software i won’t be using as the cougar mfd windows are fully dx programmable, i’ve asked around inside my wing once when i was planning on red-ing my key file in the new 4.33 keyfile wether it was a smart idea to program the mfd windows but i got a firm answer telling me that was a bad idea. (i don’t know why though) -
Iirc it was just drivers, no other software, and I use dx only too, take a look at their website.
