Lost Full Screen After Windows 10 Upgrade
-
Hello,
After upgrading to windows 10, I can no longer get a full screen in BMS 4.33 U1. Resolution is set to 1920x1080 in both windows and BMS. All I did was upgrade to Windows 10 and nothing else. This is only happening in BMS as I can get a full screen just fine with FSX. How do I fix this?
Thank you

If that’s just the UI, that’s not uncommon. Check in 3D.

It actually crashes when I click on takeoff to go into 3d. Below is the application error event log:

Hi Arty. Hope your well. Every time i delete dx9display.dsp it re appears on the next launch of Falcon.
-
and this is normal.
there are stored the display and controllers settings. -
I wonder if this is similar to my issue. With a new computer with Windows 10 and a geforce 760 I can’t get the full window and when I try to start a mission and fly it crashes. Shadow suggested going to Bios and disabling the Intel graphics card, but I didn’t want to mess with that. It may work for you.

Do i need to delete it every time i run falcon then. Sorry for not exactly knowing what dx9display.dsp is but is it the sims inbuilt direct x 9. my system is running dx12. may there be any problems .

I tried deleting the dx9display.dsp file but the issue remains. Anything else I can try or do I have to reinstall? If so, are these the only files I need to back up in order to keep everything the same?
axismapping.dat
joystick.cal
User.INI (Config Settings)
User.keyThank you

no you don’t have to delete it every time.
this is once things get fubared to reset the display settings and controllers.Any devices you guys might have in common?
stick antivirus etc.Looks like a dead end on win10.

Hi Arty & Peanuthead. i have the saitek x55 setup & run bitdefender antivirus. I had a problem with no full screen but Arty sorted me out with the extra command you put into the shorcut . launcher.exe window. i have full screen on external moniter. Mant thanks again Arty.

Hi again Arty. No problems. iI was just wondering if the dx9display would cause any conflicts with dx12 on my system.
-
Guys, sorry to interrupt, but this may be the solution I was looking for.
How do you delete the dx9 file, exactly where is it? And what line Arkangel did you add to the launcher window?

Dont forget Logbook. USER.lbk
I would not keep the ini or the cal

I deleted dx 9, but now the game crashes on startup. I probably need that extra command for the shortcut startup.
-
Have you also disabled the Intro Movie ?
And by “dx 9” i presume you mean “dx9display.dsp” in your User/Config folder.

I reverted back to Windows 8.1 and everything works perfectly now. I would stay away from Windows 10 until it becomes more BMS friendly.
Thank you!
