NVIDIA Question

Before I dive into BMS, I have a computer with NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 512 graphics. Is this sufficient for running BMS? Thanks.

I looked at a GT 640 and it’s quite weak…. my old ATI HD 5770 from 5 years ago is more powerful than the GT 640… and the “M” version with only 512MB RAM would be even weaker. I’d say you’d be lucky to get acceptable framerates with everything on low and even at less than 1080p res.

Hi Belchrs!
I just installed Falcon Bms 4.33.1 on my computer at work: Ati HD 5570 at 1920x1200 and with every pretty thing turned off I got a decent 35fps at an Airbase taxiing with a couple of frames. To my big surprice, thats higher fps then what I experienced with 4.32 all same system. It wont run smooth but I think you are able to start and learn the sim and ones you are in, you are gonna spend on a new system anyway
Welcome!
ENJOY!

I’m getting 60FPS with GTX 460 and i5-6600k with some eye candy turned down.
I think it’s more about the CPU -
How “low” do you have your eye candy turned down? My problem is I have a computer that I cannot update the graphics card, and I really don’t want to buy a new computer just to play the game. Want to make sure it’s even worth the effort. Many thanks.

Multisampling at 1, resolution 1080, no motion blur and per-vertex lighting

per-vertex lighting
I agree that per vertex saves a noticeable amount of fps, but I just always throw out that it will mess up your lights at night, making your landing light a lot less useful. It is definitely a fair trade off on some systems. I just know I was confused why my lights were like that when I tried it.

It will also depend on your cpu. My i7 2630QM with GT 540M 1GB runs it like a slide show with everything off and lowest settings. Turn everything off or on its lowest and try it and see how it works.
However, 1024 MB is minimum requirement for video memory.

Provided you have a copy of Falcon 4.0, the monetary input to try out BMS is £0.00/$0.00 and the installation is easy (less dance!) so why not give it a try?
