SimRangeKnobDown/SimRangeKnobUp doing nothing for me in 4.33.1
-
I have SimRangeKnobDown and SimRangeKnobUp bound to DX buttons in 4.33.1 (as well as the default keyboard bindings). When I go in to Setup and hit my DX buttons, it clearly shows it’s bound to the correct thing. In addition the default keyboard bindings work with the same effect in the setup screen.
Unfortunately once I’m in game, the callbacks don’t work. My radar range doesn’t change in AA, and my TGP doesn’t zoom when it’s SOI.
I tried loading the BMS - Full default profile, just to see, same effect. I can press ALT-F4 and ALT-F3 and nothing happens. Did these functions change in 4.33.1 and I just missed it?

For radar range on DX buttons, I have:
SimRadarRangeStepUp and SimRadarRangeStepDown for call backs.
For TGP Zoom, I believe it’s ManRange …. SimRangeKnobDown and SimRangeKnobUp BUT I have those on a rotary axis, so I’m not 100% sure about button/keypress functionality.
Main point: TGP Zoom and Radar Range Up/Down are different callback commands.

I think you have misunderstood the function of this call back / use of the man range knob.
It does nothing in AA mode and adjusts the radar gain in AG mode.
Take a look in the -1
To change your radar range in AA mode, either bump the cursor to the top/bottom of the screen or use the appropriate OSB on the MFD.
or use the callbacks that Agave has given… -
SimRangeKnobUp/Down absolutely used to do what I said it did in 4.33 and before, that’s why my binds are the way they are (and have been for probably 3 or 4 versions at this point). Perhaps that was a bug in previous versions, but it did work (doing some digging apparently it WAS a bug that SimRangeKnob* ever caused the AA radar to step).
I’ve mapped SimRadarRangeStepUp/Down and will figure out a work around for the TGP at some point.
