NAV mode, HUD" time to go " Data question.
-
First question:
When in NAV master mode, with radar in A-G mode, slewing the cursor will not only change the STPT Diamond’s position, but also change the “LAT” and “LNG” of the current selected steerpoint while keeping the “ELEV” and “TOS” unchanged.According to the table below, the tadpole should always points to the current selected steerpoint in NAV master mode.So when current selected steerpoint’s “LAT” and “LNG” are changed, the tadpole’s pointing should also be changed. But on the contrary, the tadpole’s pointing is not changed under slewing. It always points to the current selected steerpoint’s original position.
Second question:
Still in the NAV master mode, according to the table below, the “time to go” is always attatched with the currently selected steerpoint.Slewing will change the “LAT” and “LNG” of the currently selected steerpoint as stated above, the “time to go” displaying in the HUD should also be changed. In fact,it is changed indeed. While the “range” displaying in the HUD is also attatched with the currently selected steerpoint,so logically it should be changed as well. But on the contrary the “range” doesn’t change at all. That means on the HUD the “range” is of the steerpoint’s original position, but the “time to go” is of the STPT Diamond(or SPI).I can’t understand why the logic of the programme looks like this?
In 433 the HUD "time to go"data will be not changed for slewing the cursor. But in4.34 It will be changed.

There are two kinds of position in F-16: navigation destination and SPI for weapon aiming. Most times these are tied together but in some cases like VIP/VRP they can be separate. Navigation steering (like waypoint pointer on HSI) can point to a different place than CCRP for bombing. You may have found a situation like this. It would be worthwhile to note if NAV and AG have different behavior.
