Problem with TMS in ACM mode
-
Hi,
I have a Cougar, and it works fine, but when i enter dogfight mode, or ACM mode via the MFD, the TMS buttons to change ACM submodes do not work. For example i set dogfight mode and radar is in slewable no rad, as it suppose. Hit TMS up or down and it changes to slewable rad, but after that, a seccond press tms down and i get slewable nor rad for a very short period and get back to slewable rad. TMS right is the same, and TMS up is the same.
I can’t set 10x60 or boresight submodes.
MRM mode, using the cougar switch works fine. Also the TMS in MRM.Any clue?
Just in case, i did rtfm. But if the answer is there anyway i missed or missunderstand it.
Thanks!

Any centerplay with microstick?

Yeah sounds like your cursor needs a bigger deadzone. Does it ever move or keep moving on its own when your CRM FCR is SOI?
-
Yes it does. Dammit, noh idea that could be the reason.
I bought a TUSBA because the throttle wasn’t working properly connected directly to the stick. With the TUSBA the problems of ocassional disconnection or dogfight and speedbrake switches not working went away, but i did started to have problems with the cursor moving always slowly to the right and down. -
In the TUSBA software you should be able to set a deadzone for the cursor. If you play around with that you should be able to eliminate that cursor movement very nicely. Let me know if you can’t find it and I will try to figure out how to point you more in the right direction.

Private message sent Tomcat.
Thx!

I have to admit that I forgot about the fact that there are different TUSBA versions. I run an R2 and the software works.
Honestly not sure what the possibilities are then with your R1, other than in BMS setting the deadzone to high, but that may not be enough.
Maybe someone else has a suggestion?

After your post, i went back to the bms manual and saw that you can set a deadzone inside BMS. I had the default value of “small”, i changed it to medium and problem solved. Seems to works very well.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
