Best Nvidea Setting for today 07/12/2016
-
Hey Guys
I have been reading a lot of the threads about whats the best settings for your graphics card in Falcon BMS, but a lot of these threads are 2 years or more older and with all of the new cards and technology out here I was hoping to get guys with cards with the GTX or similar to post a screen shot of their settings in Nvidea Control panel. I have a GTX670 which is still a good card but can guys please post their Nvidea settings and maybe a screen shot to go along with it. This way guys like me can have something updated to work with.I really appreciate all of you here and your willingness to help everyone out. Thanks in advance for your replies and if I missed a thread that is more updated then I apologize but I didnt see it.
Salute!My System
Windows 10
MB MSI X58 Pro E
I7 950 3.07 ghz
16 gb ddr3 matched
Nvidea GeForce GTX 670 Video Card Water cooled
1000 watt PSUSorry, but I just don’t see the point in something like this. Assuming someone does post their settings and assuming that person is on a GTX 670 as yourself, there are a myriad of other things that could be different that would mean you won’t get the same results as the person posting their results. A different CPU, or the same CPU but different clocks. Maybe he has an SSD for the OS and the game. Maybe he’s only running 8GB RAM. What mission is he using to test fps? How exactly is he testing for fps? Is it an average over a period of time? Or does he just keeps track as he goes along?
My advice is to make your own tests and see what you get. See what’s acceptable to you. Don’t worry if John Doe gets 5+fps more, or if David Smith gets stuttering. What’s important is what works for YOU. Having said that, have a read of my FPS testing thread to give you an idea of how to test. I use TE 13 as a “stress test” and if things are acceptable there, it should be good for 99% of your simming time.
Hope that helps and good luck!

Correct me if I am wrong but didnt the Op ask for nv settings? He didnt even mention fps quest or to compare results. Just nvidia settings on the same gfx. Op is asking for help and you can either choose to give some of what he wants or just stay out m8!
If 2 systems are using same gfx with same driver and nv CP settings dispite having totally different components otherwise I believe it should produce a very good start in having a STABLE setup. No comparison in fps needed there.
Ofc no offense as always, just trying to prevent these messersmithposts that helps no one./Jaws

Ofc no offense as always, just trying to prevent these messersmithposts that helps no one.Why ask for GPU settings if not for the quest of FPS? Also, you’re not seriously telling me that a i7 950 (getting long in the tooth CPU) at 3GHz will give the same performance as a i5 6600K OC’ed to 4.4GHz, assuming the exact same GPU and drivers? I believe he is asking for help getting good performance out of his current hardware, but I believe he’s going about it in the wrong way. Just because I don’t answer the question directly does not mean I’m not trying to help.
Funny how you tell me to “stay out of it” and then say “no offense.” But don’t worry, none taken.

Wrong words then. Definitly no offense m8! I’v seen you in a million posts and I been helped in several of them myself.
Ones again. He is asking for nv settings and asking for responses from users with same gfx. Thats all! Not after same results but a help in a direction for a stable and good picture maybe.“Stay out” was wrong wording. My bad!

Haha! No worries at all Jaws! English is not my first language as well so I know exactly where you’re coming from. Sometimes, the “translator” in our heads just does not work!
As for settings, he is asking for setting for the GPU. Not in-game settings or graphics settings but in the nVidia control panel. But he does not give much info… is his current settings not working? Is he having low fps? If so, how “low” is low? In what TE/mission/scenario is he getting that “low” fps? If his question is not related to fps, is he having artifacts? Is his GPU on the way out?
In short, he needs to provide a bit more info. I personally believe that he should start with low graphics settings in the game, leaving the control panel on default. However, without FIRST establishing a good stress test method THEN establishing acceptable minimums, you’re firing the gun without even seeing the target. I also personally believe that doing these tests himself (rather than copying from someone that has a similar setup) will be beneficial for him in the long run and save him from chasing numbers that he cannot achieve due to hardware differences.
Asking for and copying someone else’s setup is useless if he ends up with 30fps and you have 60fps but he does not know that and you don’t tell him and so he’s sitting there with 30fps not knowing that it SHOULD be higher than that.

That IS a valid point!

Well a Good start with a NVidia video card is one setting in NCP that is the most helpful. it is this setting:
Look in NCP in 3D Settings, Manage 3D Settings. in there look for Power Management mode. set it to Prefer Maximum Performance… most other settings in there are negligible…
but we need to know your Before FPS for a base to see where you are at and if the setting you changed after made little or more difference… if you don’t have a base adjusting after that is pointless as you don’t know if it improved or got worse…

I was just asking for guys who have GTX 670 or higher cards to please post what they are using as settings in the Nvidea Control panel. That’s all. I still get great FPS and have no problem with any of my games. I am just curious as to why some maps look great in Falcon BMS and others don’t look as good. I was wondering if it was something in the settings that I was missing. I also have these small tiny jagged edges on some parts of the outside view of the aircraft but when I zoom in they tend to go away… Again its just my curiosity. Thanks to all that reply.Jasajas
How would I be able to reset to the default settings of the NCP? Do I use the Global or the Games EXE icon? Thanks -
I have no program specific setting. So I use global setting and just set to default or reset to global setting/default setting is what I use. I am on 353.82 nvidia driver for the GTX 670 and its smooth and stable. Falcon setup/configuration is v-sync - off and triple buffering - off. All eyecandy on exept shadow on smoke and rain rings.
Good Luck m8!
let me hear your result and if needed make a pm or I´l make a ts happening to help you in any way I can.
Cheers!

Like I said, you didn’t provide enough initial info. As for maps, are you comparing the Korea map with maybe the Israel or Balkans map? With regards to the jaggies, can you post a screenshot? Again, more info would help us help you.

OK Thanks Jasajas, Ill give it a go…
Ice here’s a screenshot that I highlighted…With small jagged edges with map KTO
Here’s a screen shot without them…This was with 2012 map
Here’s an Update
I found this thread and by using the settings that this guy posted in Yellow text I got beautiful results now man a major difference……Here a picThread here:
