Using this setup with Arma 3 and Falcon BMS… and it works very very well.
This is good alternative but for me is has been difficult to get stable movement.

Removing ir filter is very important. After I added a piece of floppy disk to filter normal light.

Add several layers of the filter. One is not enough on a sunny day.

Here’s a fun tip. I recently moved my computer to a basement, no windows and LED lighting. The LED lighting emits zero IR light! I thought my camera set-up was not working, usually I could get the modified camera to pick up a little image if I tried. When I fired up the 3-point IR clip, voila the camera would pick up an image of my face with the IR’s shining on it. So, in a completely bright lit room, the IR tracker can work perfectly. I know the non windows help immensely, but usually incandescent lights still gave off some IR light. I’m using the PS3 cam with the IR filter removed and a few layers of exposed film to block the visible light.
