Pinky Switch (DX Shif) Change Phisical Button Possible
-
Is it possible to change the Pinky Switch (DX Shif) to a different physical location?
And if yes, how can I do this using Boxer’s Excel Spread Sheet Tool Key File Editor?
Boxer, if you read this, your help is greatly appreciated.
My Warthog stick has a paddle switch that I find much more comfortable pressing to engage shifted functions than the small pinky button which is very cumbersome with the pinky finger.

Pinky Shift isn’t a ‘button’, it’s a command. You can put a command on any button you wish (more or less). I have the SimHOTASPinkyShift command on my paddle switch on the Warthog stick. Same reason as you, to hold the shift is easier on the paddle than on the pinky button.
The easiest thing to do is open your keyfile in notepad or a similar text editor and copy/paste whatever command is on the Paddle Switch on to the Pinky BUTTON, then type SimHOTASPinkyShift into the place where the Paddle Switch commands were. Just swap the commands on the lines indicated.
SimDoNothing -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 -2 “========= WARTHOG STICK UNSHIFTED =========”
SimTriggerFirstDetent 0 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1
SimPickle 1 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1
SimAPOverride 2 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1 (the pinky button)
SimHotasPinkyShift 3 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1 (the paddle switch)
SimMissileStep 4 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1….
SimDoNothing -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 -2 “========= WARTHOG STICK SHIFTED =========”
SimWheelBrakes 256 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1
SimEmergencyJettison 257 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1
AFResetTrim 258 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1 (the pinky button)
SimHotasPinkyShift 259 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1 (the paddle switch)
