JDAM in PAIR ?
-
Hi,
After some searches on the manuals and the forum I found a lot of interesting stuff but nothing about the capability to release JDAM in pair. Sorry if I missed the information.
So my question is : is it possible to perform such a release and how to tune it ?
Flying as a leader, my AI wingman releases his 2 JDAM in one pass.Windblow

Keep the pickle button pushed :after few seconds ,the second one Will ne released
-
thanks Suhkoi69;
is it documented somewhere ?
anyway, I will try as soon as at home -
Have another look at the INERTIALLY AIDED MUNITIONS chapter of the TO BMS1-F16CM-34-1-1 in your \Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Docs\Falcon BMS Manuals folder.
JDAMs and SDBs single pass â multiple targets procedure ( p208 )
The F-16 cannot release JDAMs in ripple mode so in order to release multiple JDAMs in one pass on multiple targets you should follow these steps:
- During planning in the UI map screen, assign a steerpoint for each target in subsequent orderâ i.e., 5-6-7-8 for 4 targets.
- When in range of the targets (assuming they are all in the same area, otherwise this will not work) with the first target steerpoint chosen and cursor-zero (no slewing necessary), releasing the first JDAM/SDB will send it towards the first target.
- Quickly choose next steerpoint.
- Release a second JDAM/SDB. Repeat step 3 for the remaining bombs.
Following this procedure (which is real for the F-16) will let you use JDAMs or SDBs as a pre-planned GPS guided weapon and drop many in one pass.

Thanks Darkman,
I know and use this procedure for ONE PASS AND MULTI TARGETS:rolleyes:
My question is about release IN PAIR : ONE PASS AND 2 JDAM on ONE TARGET
I donât look for a ripple âequivalentâ procedure , but for IN PAIR
As there is no setting possibilities as JSOW or WCMD with something equivalent as IMPACT OPTION (single, side by side or tandem), but only different profiles (PROF1, 2, 3, 4) I assume IN PAIR for JDAM is not allowed ! is there any reason for that ? -
Not for the common avionics. Some F-16 can, for example the IAF one.
-
ok , Amraam:), That is a good reason as I fly the belgian one.
I will have a look and try an IAF.But how can I explain that after one pass, my AI wingman has lost (released) his 2 JDAM on 1 Target ?
a âsay weaponsâ check confirms the load remaining. -
You can release two singles, which is probably what your AI wingmen are doing.
When first bomb comes off release and hold again the pickle button. -
I think I have the ACMI available.
I will check tonight.
Thanks Badger. same proposal than sukhoi69 #2 -
If you have a look a little earlier in the same chapter ( p198 ) youâll see the following line: âThe option to select whether two weapons may be released against one target is only available for JSOW (PRE and VIS delivery submodes only) and WCMD (JDAM can only be launched singly).â
The person who coded the changes to the IAMs wrote most of this chapter, so I can only deduce this is by design, based on how the avionics work in the real jet; or most of them as this is the F-16 after all, so there are probably exceptions
As for the AI they donât use the same code, so probably donât have the same restrictions.
-
Along the same line as wingmen using Mavericks⌠Take off and fireâŚ
-
 yes, I missed That point â(JDAM can only be launched singly)â
I focused on JDAM and read too quickly the 3.4.8 IMPACT OPTION (JSOW, WCMD)thanks a lot for pointing that Darkman.
-
No worries. I learn/spot something new every time I read the manual, and believe me Iâve read it a lot of times
There is so much information now available in the default install itâs so easy to do.
-
You were right.
The Wingman released his 2 GBU in 2 steps, not in PAIR
The following question is Why did he release 2 GBU and not only one ? -
AI wingmen are dumb that way.
If you want the to release on my one, youâve got to issue a âweapons holdâ command right a way.
